How much longer can Sprint stay...

Even though I opted to go with Verizon rather than Sprint EVDO, its hard to be pessimistic about the sprint future. They are going against a much larger Verizon that has a land line phone business to anchor it. And unlike Verizon that is spending boatloads of money on expensive advertising, Sprint is forging partnerships with Clearwire and Comcast. Bottom line, the company that first deploys 4G to their customers will have a clear competitive...

Sounds promising. I think you'll be able to find a 3' 850 or 900 MHz grid type reflector (they're quite broad so probably anything advertized 800-950 will be pretty much OK)for around $50, about the same price as the PCS versions and probably using an identical reflector with only the dimensions of the feed different. Higher is always better (I bet 90' would work pretty well!) but you'll probably see quite a lot of...

We've been discussing the many uses of the new Pepwave Surf Mini for a couple weeks now, and here is yet another great use for it! For folks using commercial WiFi networks (for example, the ones AT&T and Verizon offer their DSL customers), the Pepwave Surf Mini comes in very handy. It simplifies the task of switching from one hotspot to another without having to change network settings on each piece of equipment that requires...

But also found that RG-8 also have low less than that of RG-213. But I didnt find any of its uses in WIKI. Only RG-58 and RG-213 are mentioned in the Wikipedia for the use in RadioCommunication . Can I also use RG-8 instead of RG-213?

I have been wondering about antennas even if I am fairly happy with speed.
Generally I get downloads in the 650 K/bits/sec range.
Using Verizon access manager on my Verizon 720 modem, a quick check of EVDO signal strength showed -77 and -84 for 1xrtt. A few seconds later I got
got a -2 decrease. Meanwhile the signal meter is always either 2 or 3 bars on a 4 point scale.

Hi..
At the office we just switched from Sprint to Verizon and have numerous data cards lying around now.
Any chance these would work on Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go service, since Virgin runs on Sprint's network?
Just thought I'd take a shot in the dark.
Thanks

My dad has had TWO KR2's crap out where the wifi stops working while the connectivity portion and the switch aspects still work. We've tried resetting them, reflashing, cycling the wifi on/off switch, etc., but no dice.
I recently upgraded my original WRT54G3G-ST to an MBR1200 and gave the old rig to my dad since he had to buy a WAP to get wifi working in his house again. The Linksys ...

I totally agree with matt167, I took the same buy my own modem off of ebay to get a month by month Verizon contract.
By in large my RSSI varies from -90 to -78, I get more speed, and its so much faster than dial up.
And because I use ICS networking, its at last ended the arguments between my wife and myself about hogging all the bandwidth.

Is this promo still being offered, and if so is it exclusive to 3Gstore? I couldn't find the same offer anywhere on Verizon Wireless's website, and I'd assume this sticky would be updated or removed if it was no longer being offered.
I just want to be sure because my family is looking into subscribing with Verizon Wireless for mobile broadband and this would be a wonderful deal for us....

Mr Hesse has got to go. This downturn started with his arrival. It begs the question, what is Verizon doing that Sprint is not? It seems to me marketing. Verizon and AT&T are having ad wars over who has the better network, I rarely see a Sprint ad. The Pre had the potential to be the
iPhone killer, but after playing around with my mother's Pre, I see why it failed miserably, they crippled it....

yes, you can use that direct connect amp with the CDU680.
here is the amp: http://3gstore.com/811201
and here is the CDU680 adapter cable:
http://3gstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_inf o&products_id=665
you'll need an antenna to feed signal into the amp.
check out this guide for comparison: http://3gstore.com/antennas
we'd recommend the CDU680 ...

So I've got some of these cards... they seem to work well. It's nice that there are drivers for windows and the Mac for this card. (one of the reasons I upgraded to it with the fact that it includes the Adapter)
But... what about using mobile 3G routers?

Well, it's possible that an antenna or amplifier/antenna combo could help stabilize your connection. However, first you would need to do a "site survey" that would help determine if any additional equipment will help your situation.

How did this guy neglect to make sure that he had a data plan on the phone? If the kid used that much data in the course of one month, I'm going to venture a guess that it was some sort of smart phone. I wasn't aware that you could even activate a smart phone without a data plan anymore.
Did he forget to add a texting plan too?
What a chump.
