Quote: Whether or not it is a lure or bribe depends on when you are using it . Both lures AND bribes are offered before the reaction of the dog, but they are both not the same thing. ] Personally I disagree. I feel that lures ARE bribes, just quickly faded ones. By all proffessional definitions they fit into the "before behavior" catagory, no matter how many hairs you split, it still ends up there, despite how useful it is,...

I'm not upset with anyone I just wanted people to know why they are built like they are--there is a method to their madness. LOL.........But I agree people have taken them to the extreme--some do have wob bly hocks and it's very sad. But then on the flip side of the coin the working dog people--not ALL of them--breed for work and not conmformation--a lot of the show people I see are at least getting their CH dogs Herding Instinct...

My dog is so much more verbal and active than my friend's two from the same breeder. Luck of the draw for us Molly38. Just like children they all have their own traits. It's that old nature vs nuture question.

Stories from the Dog Park

We have a very, very small field at the side of a childrens' playground that is fenced off for dogs. I've only been there one or two times and never met any other dogs there, but its a cool place for Skye and Bruno to chase eachother.

I occasionally go to a dog park that is about 15 minutes from my parents' house and since there is no direct path and no nearby parking lot, it brings only a few dogs (and people) in at a time.
My favorite encounter was the somewhat odd but very pleasant woman who went around telling everyone she was a dog psychic and what their dog(s) were thinking at that very moment. It wasn't difficult ...

try training without treats. border collie's are very smart and most are motivated to work without treats.
use a marker word 'yes' instead so she knows she is doing something correct.

i just adopted a beagle/sheltie mix. (at least that's what i was told she is) i wonder if anyone has any pics of an adult of this mixed breed or would be able to direct me to any pics and other info about this particular dog. i have researched both pure breeds and according to what i've read, she's gonna be perfect for us. just curious as to what she will look like and how big she may get. ...

Hey there.
The more treats the better - at such a young age, your puppy needs to learn in a gentle way that grooming is something he'll have done for the rest of his life and it isn't a bad thing. The younger the better at this point so he gets used to it - I had mine done at five months and we've never had problems with it before, he's a star on the table. Once I took TWO HOURS trying to ...

I think this would depend more on exercise routines?? But if there's a concern for a physical explanation, then perhaps a veterinary exam should be done.

A lot of dogs do it when they're bored mentally. I suggest doing some tricks or mental stimulating stuff, maybe even getting a specific chew toy for when he does it at a specific time, if it's in the evening, for example. It could be lack of exercise too, but most likely he just needs mental stimulation.
If you do get worried, you might want to see the vet as I've heard of dogs doing this ...

A long list of profanities... LOL jk, that's the cat.
I call Jazz "Spaz Dog" or "freak dog". Zoe gets called "Pekingese" every once in a while. lol Freddie gets called "sperm dog" from time to time (Lol it's a long story). And the foster Rua gets called Pita... which is short for 'Pain In The A$$'. That about covers it! lol

It is per day. At 15 weeks you could probably do 20 minutes a day of structured walking but that doesn't mean that's all you can do to wear him out. You can break up the walk by going for about 10 minutes then stopping the formal exercise to let him play or do some training with him, then walking 10 minutes back. Remember that mental exercise can fatigue a dog also and so giving him toys meant...

Uhhhh American Pit Bull Terrier (and pretty much all of the "bully" breeds, Cane Corso, and Jack Russell Terrier. That's probably it.
My favorite "foo foo" breed is a Pekingese. Lol
