Published (2009-11-25 13:16:00)
Hi, Normal seminal fluid is an admixture of spermatozoa suspended in secretions from the testis and epididymis which get mixed at ejaculation with secretions from the prostate, seminal vesicles, and bulbourethral glands. The final composition comprises the ejaculate(semen). The fluid from the seminal vesicles is viscous and yellowish(70% of human semen). The fluid from the prostate is a whitish (sometimes clear), thin fluid. Bulbourethral...

Permanent penis pump damage
Published (2009-11-25 12:18:00)
Hello,While it is possible that some damage occurs during a vacum pump it is always better to rule out certain unlikely conditions just to be on the safer side. One such is erythroplasia of queyrat which can present with erythematous plaques on the glans penis.Though it is classified as premalignant is eminently treatable with external appllications of 5FU .Though most unlikely yet better to be on the safer side and get evaluated to rule this...

Published (2009-11-25 22:43:00)
Hi there -- It's not at all unusual to have one arm be more difficult to read than the other, just for odd anatomical reasons. However, for a medical assistant to take your blood pressure, having failed on one arm, then tell you your blood pressure is "high" and walk away, well, I wouldn't put too much stock in this, especially if the doctor didn't then say anything more about it. Sounds mostly like a...

OK, thanks for the clarification. So she did not receive any vaccine (the 12 year old). In healthy people, this flu seems to run its course without much trouble. Flu always carries a certain risk, usually related to complications. Of course she may never even be exposed to this anyway. It's luck of the draw. I would not be overly concerned if she is healthy and you don't put someone who is at risk in your household, such as a person...

Twitchy Eye for 3 months
Published (2009-11-22 23:19:00)
Hi, Eye twitching is common with most of us these days. Cause is not known in most of the cases, but stress and continous eye strain are commonly associated. Relax your eyes if you have any continous work, AND SLEEP ENOUGH!!. Take care of your food habits in terms of quality , quantity and timing of food and drink plenty of water.Magnesium supplements do help in some cases but really not required. If it continues to bother you again and again...

Effexor Withdrawal
Published (2009-11-19 09:38:00)
Help With Effexor XR Withdrawal Hi. I am a 33 yr old female that has been taking Effexor Xr 75mg for 30 days. My dr prescribed this for PMDD. I have never had a history of depression nor have I ever taken medication for depression . Since my child was born, managing my pms became more difficult. My dr decided to switch me to Fluoxetine 10mg per day 3 days ago. She said to quit the Effexor XR cold turkey, that replacing it with the Fluoxetine...

Effexor Withdrawal
Published (2009-11-19 01:05:00)
Hello All, I am a 48 y.o. male who has been taking Effexor XR for about 8 years for depression . My doses have fluctuated between 75mg and 150mg per day and I must say that the drug does its job. I was introduced to the horrible withdrawal effects from this drug when I ran out while on a hiking trip in the summer of 2006 and spent almost 48 hours in hiking hell. I had no idea that I was experiencing withdrawal from Effexor . I thought I was...

Dr. M. Aroon Kamath, Thankyou for your reply. I should have said My husband doesn't get a headache with these sudden attacks, just the blocked ear, severe dizziness, followed by severe vomiting and sweating, which makes him very grey in colour when this happens, we don't what the cause of it is. He has no started to take travel sickness pills at the onset to see if this helps, as he doesn't know what else to do??? Any advice...

Good morning, and thanks for a very good answer. I realize that my knowledge about heart diseases is too high for a "non-medic" to handle. My diagnosis from cardiologist is strong cardiac neurosis, and "innocent / benign premature contractions". I strongly believe that, if I would just accept the first explaination (you don't have a heart disease) without reading articles from cardiology ...

Hi, With what little information that has been provided, my first guess would be that the swellings that you felt could be perhaps, neuofibromas(associated with neurofibromatosis type 1). One needs to look for evidence of cafe-au-lait spots, which are small patches of brownish discolouration(of varying shades of brown),'Lisch nodules' on the iris and other signs. Neurofibromatosis shows an ...

Hi there -- Your second post wasn't put up til after my response to the first one had posted, so I apologize for any seeming inconsistency. I'm glad to hear the pain is better, and with the additional information I still feel the first answer was probably the right one, but given your current weight this also could be an even more simple matter of excess fatty tissue in the abdomen having no ...

Dr, Thank you for the reply. Her lymph nodes to us seem very swollen. You can actually see them in her neck sometimes, but her pediatrician says that they are within normal range. I guess we will just have to wait a few months until she gets in to see the Dr.

So, I thought I was dying today. At least I was smart enough to put two and two together to figure out what was really wrong with me. I was suffering the effects of Effexor withdrawal. I had run out of my medicaiton and was awaiting my new prescription of Effexor XR in the mail through my mail order service. I have been taking Effexor XR for over 3 years now and have never had a problem with ...

For Edna: While there could be some connection between yeast and your next-day problems, it's generally acknowleged (and now proven) that alcohol-containing beverages which are darkened by yeast, rye or other colorful substances do tend to cause hangovers (neurological next-day issues) that are not generally seen with vodka, which had been the conventional wisdom for decades but now has been ...

Hi,I think looking at the history of ARTHRITIS it might be a little serious situation, which should not be neglected. Arthritis might be associated with RETINAL INFLAMMATION,/uVEITIS?? which might lead to seeing flashes persistently in the visual field. If it is so, it needs immediate attention with proper detailed, dilated retinal examination of the retinal periphery ,preferably by a retinal ...
