Brian -- There are two locations in Project Server 2007 in which you can synchronize your organization's Active Directory with the Project Server system. One of these populates the Enterprise Resource Pool (and makes each resource "assignable" as you state) and the other adds users to the proper security Groups in PWA. You have done the latter but not the former, I suspect. Assuming you are the Project Server...

1) I'm wondering the same thing ;) I have no practical reason for entering baseline values manually except for trying to troubleshooting this summary rollup problem I described. The attribute of these baseline fields are defined by MS Project help as calculated or "entered". It would seem that "entered" doesn't work very well when it comes to summing baseline data on summary row. 2)...

I don't have an environment in front of me, but external tasks have a
specific identifying field in MS Priject. Doubleclick on the Gantt Chart to
get the bar styles and check which field that is. I believe it's "external."
you should be able to filter on that field in the Project Details view in
PWA.

Only VBA can do this as only VBA can create . mpp files.
Your code needs to read the VIEW_project table in the database to get a list
of all published projects. Use OLEDB to do this.
Then loop thru each record, open the project from project Server, save as
..mpp, close and repeat.

Your Project Server administrator simply needs to navigate to the Manage
Views page in PWA, click the name of the PWA view to open it for editing,
remove the old field from the View, and add the new field to the View. Hope
this helps.

No, there is no automated way to perform the resource substitution, even
using the Resource Substitution Wizard. The PM needs to open each project
and manually substitute the new resource for the former resource. The
fastest way to do this would be to click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise

They are not referring to Internet Explorer. They are referring the

My Task page is really your assignments to tasks. So if more than one person
is assigned to a task the numbers in the proect detail will be different than
that is in My Tasks. For example if tow resources are assigned to a task
that has 40 hours work and one reports 20 hours of actual work and 100%
complete the task is only 50% ...

The easier solution may be to create a place for them on the RBS, if you can
think of a way of doing it so that it solves your problem.

Hadi,
I have not tried this yet it may be a viable option. Have your DBA create a
view that pulls the key fields to this table and the specific fields you are
wanting to report on and make sure you don't exceed the 255 field limit. If
you need all the data fields, then create multiple views with the key fields
so you can tie them...

Hi Roger, if memory serves me correctly there was a bug regarding Outline
Codes, but I think it was to do with the client? Have you put SP2 on the
client too? Also, before re-entering anything, I would check the db fields
directly and see if they are there.
