  Hi Rich I have looked at this link and tried all versions that they supply. The only program that seems to be able to recover the disk is their Data RecoveryWizard. Unfortunately this has the recovery feature disabled unless I purchase the full program. It can access all the data. I am reluctant to buy this program because I might not need to use it again. I won't fall foul of the dynamic disc setup again. Do you know of...

  I have saved data on an external HD from old pc running XPSP3 (x86) Italian using USMT. After reinstalling Windows XP (clean installation) I have done all system updates and trying to restore data via USMT but the utility not recognize any data file in folder z:\USMT2.UNC. The folder contain IMG0001.DAT and status files. I have read about this on KB896344 but is not applicable on x86 italian language. I have copied the folder also...

XP home upgrade CD too old in...

  I just tried to reinstall my XP Home Edition upgrade CD and I got a message stating that my Version 2002 disc is older than my currant version of XP on my computer. Therefore, its not allowing me to reinstall XP again. Any ideas how to get this CD to work without having to do a complete fresh install without using my Windows Me --> then up load XP again. ps ... Would MS send me a new disc??? ... with paying $$$???

  I finally decided to upgrade from Win2000 pro to WinXP pro so I could use something more recent than IE6. I got the XP SP2 OEM cd and code from our IT and installed. Now when I attempt to log in I get a popup with the title "Windows Product Activation" and the text shown above in the subject line.   Hi all, I would like a computer to prompt the user for the network name, during boot up. This will be for backup computers used in a class room, to quickly replace a computer that has developed a glitch.
