Take a look in the Task Manager when the computer starts and take note
of the CPU and Memory usage counters. When the machine slows down take
another look at the counters and see what is different. A leaky
application is a common cause for a machine slowly getting more
sluggish, keep an eye on your running processes and see if some of...

After countless years of people losing their personal files and documents
Microsoft decided to have a default repository for same. I guess software
manufacturers thought it was a good idea also as they all started to utilize
the My Documents folder.

Explorer.exe has a number of other processes associated with it.
It's most likely a sub-process or application that's running in the
background and taking all the CPU resources, which could be
the cause of your PC running slow.
