Published (2009-12-19 16:42:00)
Guys Something that has rather fussed me for a long time is that if I want to restore to a previous month it is not available to me. Indeed a restore point made earlier this month manually is not available to me today. The only restore point available is one created automatically yesterday when I removed a couple of drives. Is this normal? Many thanks Richard

You need to go into your BIOS and change the order of the hard disks so that the SCSI shows first. If it is not listed in the BIOS (very possible, given that most BIOS don't understand SCSI), then you'll need to do some fiddling to remove the SATA drives from the list of boot devices.

XP Mode runs in virtual hardware and only has access to USB and COM, but not parallel, ports. It is useful for legacy applications which need access to USB and serial port peripherals for which there are no 64-bit drivers. If the application needs access to some other type of peripheral it will not help. XP Mode also needed if you have older programs with 16-bit components, because there is no 16-bit sub-system in any 64-bit...

Thanks for the advice, but I downloaded Live Movie Maker, and it turned out to be the one I had already rejected because it doesn't work properly on my PC. It doesn't have an audio editing line, and the results are really poor. If I simply stick clips together, it does that OK, but if I use a transition between the clips, it screws up the sound, and patches it into the wrong places in the movie. The previous editor with...

Bob: Security essentials doesn't support XP x64 based in information listed on the download page. I tried to install the x64 version on a test system and it doesn't install, I didn't waste time trying to install the x86 version. Reading the information can be interpreted as having XP x86 support only for use when using XP x86 on a virtual machine or in XP mode.

Were you able to get the drivers for this laptop? I have everything
working - except for the internal microphone - were you able to get this
working?
Thanks,
Billy

Where do you find that it does not support a 64 bit instruction set?
The information posted on the website @
http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42920 indicates that it is a 64 bit
CPU.

It depends on how you did the installation. If you let Win 7 do its
thing when installing it actually makes 2 partition; 1 100mb & 1 with
the rest of the disc. Some of the system boot files are located in the
100mb partition for security. If this is the case then just moving the
100GB partition would render it unbootable.

I was freaking out when suddenly, Hulu.com Youtube.com and even
Blockbuster.com stopped working on my 64 bit Laptop. My mom's new
computer is also 64 bit, so I was in a fix to watch my videos, or

One quick fix is to download a 32 bit browser, and then commit to using
it when using these types of websites. The one I downloaded ...
