There are several hotfixes for SP3. Here's a link to Allen Browne's page on the SP3 bugs, along with links to two (I believe) of these. Using runtime access, any unhandled errors do exactly what has happened to you. In an accdb file, if you get an error, access can open the debug window and tell you there is an error. You'll need to supply more details. What kind of errors are you getting? What action causes them? For what it's worth, there's no reason for the back-end to be an MDE. MDEs are intended for code, not data.
