You can password protect your Word documents against opening, which will keep out all but the most determined snoop, but it won't stop anyone you allow access from deleting them. You need to introduce security measures to keep other users out of your profile (not perfect but it's a start) and you need to move important files to an external drive which you should keep locked away when you are not using the PC. The best...

See the following page of fellow MVP Graham Mayor's website: http://www.gmayor.com/EnvelopesAndLabels.htm and http://www.gmayor.com/changing_envelope_layout.htm Probably an HP Problem. As far as Word is concerned an envelope is just a document, with the only thing that is special about it is that it uses an EnvelopeAddress Style that contains a frame, which is used to position the address on the envelope. It is not essential...

Thanks, I ended up keeping it in portrait mode and using hidden text for the caption that the List of Figures sees/pulls and shrinking the figure just enough so the hidden caption stays on the same page. Luckily, I had already been using my own field code for the list of figures instead of having it pull from the captions itself: {TC "{seq xyz}.->Short graphic " \f Fig \l "1"} I then...

Someone may come along with a macro to select all the headings at once, but
you can certainly select all the headings in a given style at once. In the
Find dialog, use Format | Style to select the desired style, leaving the
"Find what" box empty. Then click "Find in" and choose "Main document." All
your headings in the chosen style will...

You don't have to download anything. Even if 72 pt is the largest value you
can *select*, you can *type* larger values. For example, you can select the
current value in the Font group and type in what you want. Just press Enter
to apply the new size to the selected text.

Hi Teresa,
1. Place your cursor where you want to insert the file.
2. On the Insert menu, click File.
3. In the Insert File dialog box, select the file that you want to insert.
4. Click Insert, and agree to any required conversions.
The entire file should be inserted.

Do you want to change the size of all your existing documents, or do
you want _new_ documents to be set to 16 pt?

1. Use the Modify Style dialog box to modify a table style in Word. The
exact steps depend on your version of Word.
2. As far as I know, this is not possible in Word. The best you can do with
table styles is set the *first* row as a heading row. There are other
methods that can be used, such as AutoText (building blocks) or macros....

In Word, cross-references are REF fields, which means you can do the
following: Press Alt+F9 to show field codes. Display the Find dialog box
(Ctrl+F). In the "Find what" box, type ^d. Use the Find Next button to move
between REF fields.

Are you really referring to themes? Note that themes were introduced in Word
2007, so you couldn't have created one in Word 2003.
In Word 2007, you cannot remove a theme, but you can reset to the theme from
the document template: Page Layout | Themes | Reset to Theme from Template.

Instead of using section breaks around the title, I would probably put
the title in a borderless text box or frame with square text wrapping,
and make the text box or frame wide enough to span the page.

Text (of any kind, including tables) cannot flow over a section break. If
you use a Next Page section break, then it will always start a new page,
but there's no guarantee it will be page 2. Instead of creating artificially
large rows, why not make the height of all of them Auto? FWIW, I am unable
to open the document you have posted; ...
