If this happens with a particular document, that document could be protected (or restricted). Which version of Word are you using? If it happens with *all* of your documents, I'd guess you are using an expired trial version (buy a full version) or an installation of Word/Office that hasn't been activated (activate it). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "rosie" wrote: > my document wont let me type...

I solved the problem by reading the file into Word 2000, modifying the style
of the Heading 1 to link to the rest of the multilayer list, saving it, and
reading it back into Work 2007. I can't believe there isn't a way to do it in
Word 2007, but I spent 2 days trying to figure it out and solved it in 5
minutes in Word 2000. Is that ...

I would like to know that, too.
So far, I use a macro to automatically update fields. Looks like this:

For Each f In ThisDocument.Fields
f.Update
Next
End Sub
Private Sub Document_Open()
updateFields
End Sub

French is not included by default with a Swedish Office installation. I
belive you need the Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools, but I don't know
if it's still available, given the fact that Office 2007 is the current
version.

You can change the language of the text, either by applying the desired
language as direct formatting (via the Language dialog box) or by changing
the language of the appropriate style.

Hi,
From your description, I assume that you are using Word 2007. If you added
the bullets by clicking on the Bullets button in the Ribbon or by pressing
Ctrl+Shift+L, you can change the indenting. Right-click within a bulleted
paragraph and click Adjust List Indents. Set the desired indents and click
OK. All the bulleted ...

I am afraid that if the documents were not saved, there is nothing to
recover. This is not something peculiar to Microsoft products.
To avoid such an issue in future change the automatic updates setting to
notify you of updates rather than just go ahead regardless.

The problem is probably Citrix and some setting within that environment
that's controlling these paths. The change will probably have to be made on
the server rather than from the end-user side. Ask your Citrix engineer to
look into the problem.

SgtMajor,
Is your checklist a Word protected form? If it is and if all of the
checklist dropdown boxes have just three entries "N, Y or N/A," how is one
or more being left blank? Or do you have a "blank entry" set as the defualt
for each question?
If that is the case then you will need to do some validation on field ...

Hi Tom,
When you insert a page number into a header or footer, Word creates a {PAGE}
field. By default, a {PAGE} field displays the page number relative to the
first page of the document. When you divide your document into sections, you
can configure the page numbering to restart at any number in each section,
and then the {...
