Did you upgrade a Vista computer to Windows 7? Windows 7 will deactivate your Windows Mail, but it will save all the messages. Just do a search for .EML files. You can import those into Windows Live Mail. -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/profile/vandermolen "Zygy" <zygy@commonwealth.com> wrote in message...

FYI, I think that the the message "properties" are in the "message store". I don't have an answer but it might help the experts if you can clarify something. Do you want to only duplicate the messages to the second laptop or do you want to merge from one to the other? Do you want to synchronize the two so you can download using either one then synchronize the two? If you never download...

you might try this link... http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB401738&cv=740,102 but their website is funky, and probably won't let me give a direct link to the help page. For different services, and/or different areas, it may be different... It basically says: Check email settings to ensure your email client (i.e., Outlook Express, Outlook, etc.) contains the correct mail server settings and that your email...

Environmentalpaper.org is not an ISP. As such, it is less likely that
the domain host would support port 465. Turn off the SSL option and
try sending with port 587 (preferred) or port 25.

Hi Desperate Chick
Did you manage to figure out what was causing this? I am having a similar
problem to yours today, where I open Windows Mail and it repeatedly asks me
to verify username and password, but not letting me download my email,
despite what I type in.
Frustrating or what?!?!

It is common for spammers to use someone else's email address so it does
not necessarily mean that your account has been "Hacked', although you
could consider changing the password. Often they pick up an email
address for a newsgroup such as this one or they get them from one
careless contact who has "Forwarded" something like a joke to...

Windows mail does not maintain separate identities. You can have the two
mail accounts, but all mail will go into the one Inbox under your sign-in.
The only way to separate the mail accounts is to set up two different user
logins (for Vista) and assign one mail account to each login. Then you will
have to login to Vista as each ...

That's not the complete error message.
Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
