Unread e-mail that doesn't...
Published (2009-11-10 19:09:00)
Hi, Gary. There is no "generic" Inbox in WLM. There is a separate Inbox for each Mail Account. But you can use Quick views to create the Unread mail box, which shows the contents of all the Inboxes in a single view. It doesn't actually move the messages; it just shows them all. It doesn't work perfectly. Sometimes the Unread mail Quick view shows nothing unread, even when there are unread messages in one...

That used to be the case in WLM's ancestor Outlook Express. It used the proofing tools installed by Office products and which were also shared by the Works products. However, several years ago Microsoft started going away from that. I'm guessing Microsoft wanted to develop the proofing tools without having to coordinate things across the product line. Works starting with version 7 got its own private proofing tools. And...

Your default mail client isn't necessarily the same as your newsgroup client. Mine isn't. For example, when I post a newsgroup message with Windows Mail, the CC copy would wind up in Windows Live Mail. -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/profile/vandermolen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ila Bartoe"...

Precisely as you did that with OE, by using the tools on the 'Edit-toolbar' (not sure if this is the official name) at the top of the area in which you type your text. Of course this does not work with 'plain text' format (just as with OE), therefore in the 'New mail' window on the 'Format' menue 'Rich text (HTML)' has to be selcted. Pim.

If not present, are you importing from a prior message store of

Yes, those buttons are gone in WLMail. Workaround:
After clicking Forward, highlight and delete anything you don't want to
send. Original address info, anti-virus footer, etc.
Place the cursor at the bottom most part of the quote line. On the Menu Bar,
click the Format Paragraph button and then Decrease Indent. Two lines? Do ...

Do you mean the "All e-mail" Quick View? It's not a folder, it's a view.
It shouldn't show deleted or junk email messages.
However, you can select which Quickviews you want by right-clicking on
"Quick views" - Select Quick views...
Uncheck the ones you don't want.
Or, you can right-click on a Quickview, and select "Remove from List...

display.

But, when I cc:myself they are still not coming through? Any suggestions on that one?
