Hi,, On advice from PCR, I am starting this new thread. About 3 months ago, I got an error msg from my prefered software (jad) saying it could'nt play (playback) the music c/d I put in. It was out-of-the-blue to me as I have never had a problem playing music c/d's before. I checked Every setting Everywhere, and all looked just fine. I tried this, and this helped: it looks there was some another device that caused this problem: when I rebooted in Safe mode, I find in System Properties \ Device Manager that the yellow exclamation mark had another device: "Other devices > PCI Ethernet Controller", not Realtek RTL8029 PCI Ethernet NIC. Have you tried "Removing" (uninstalling) it from System Properties \ Device Manager in Safe Mode and then re-boot and re-install those (NIC PCI Card) drivers & software supplied with the card. The first picture (Dev.Man - the yellow exclamation mark) suggests your driver files *may* be damaged/corrupted. (Unless the card has died) Mart "Annex" <annex@nospam.microsoft.news>...

Read all before performing any of these steps. On the cd drive itself, make sure the audio cable is plugged in. At the other end, If using the onboard sound. Make sure it plugged into the motherboard. If using a pci or an isa sound cord make sure the other end is plug into that and not the motherboard. You might try this with or without those steps above or even before you try those step above. Control Panel-System -Device Manager...

trying to run Custer game in...

I can run the Custer demo fine but when I try to run the game, an "Error 010: can not access DMM" occurs. I googled DMM and believe it is Dynamic Memory Manager but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Just tried the latest MSHTML.DLL with W98SE. It works fine on an IBM
laptop, but on the desktop, when IE is invoked it launches to the home
page (Yahoo World News) then immediately closes leaving a Download
prompt asking if I want to DL the page !!
There's a glitch somewhere. To those replacing files, be sure your
current file is...
