Wait for few days, maybe the problem will return. For me, the problem with WLM and attachments also misteriously disappears and later returns, without any change in hardware at all. --pa "Bogdan" <bogdan@nocompany.com> wrote in message news:##BfCs$eKHA.4636@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Thanks again Pavel for your reply. > > I got it working on the problematic machine by replacing an...

  > for ex. portscans or any kind of connection trials etc... so called > network events Zonealarm uses (when I knew it), TDI filter and NDIS IM drivers to get such events. Also, there are no specific events for things such as a port scan. The driver/application has to decide based on rules etc. whether a specific connection request/packet is genuine or a 'possible' port scan.

Published (2009-12-12 03:22:00)
Hello! I've got the question important to me. I asked in some places but there is no answer at all. I tried reading, googling, asking and still I have some doubts. Finally I found this forum and I see there are experts here who may be able o answer my question. I found code of simple client - server application using TCP sockets, written in C#: http://www.csharphelp.com/archives/archive127.html . It makes possible to send and...

UDP hole punching in...
Published (2009-12-12 07:52:00)
I try to implement UDP hole punching according the excelent article "Peer-to-Peer Communication Across Network Address Translators" from here - http://www.brynosaurus.com/pub/net/p2pnat/ . It works fine on the same LAN but on the Internet I see that on each peer the port is still blocked. Here are some more details- 1. On the three computers, two peers and server, firewall is disabled. 2. There is a modern NAT...

Thanks again Pavel for your reply. I got it working on the problematic machine by replacing an older version of Linksys router with a new Trendnet (nothing wrong with Linksys, I think, just its age). I'm still puzzled by that whole experience because I do not understand why one app can work fine with a 'faulty' router and another cannot. This would indicate that wininet API has some weaknesses. But, it is free and...

Winsock socket handle...
Published (2009-12-14 02:11:00)
We are facing an issue with the winsock socket handle reallocation. we have a client server application written in c++ using winsock. It is a multithreaded application. assume that one thread is performing a read on some socket with handle 1234 and the remote socket is closed thus we receive 0 from recv function. now we should try to close the socket using closesocket function. but at the same instance, our listener thread accepts...

IPv6 configuration in...
Published (2009-12-14 10:55:00)
Hi, On Windows Vista, I programatically configured the IPv6 global unicast address to the active NIC with following values: IPv6 address=2001:1890:111b:3bbb:6390:ed54:d3cf:54 Prefix Length=64 Nexthop=on-link I also configured default route (::/0) with index of active NIC. But when I tried to use Wireshark to send ICMPv6 message when I try ping 2001:1890:111b:3064::2, Wireshark doesn't show any ICMPv6 echo request, only some...
