i just came across a new service that dish network is offering. for only $5.99/month you can subscribe to a multi sport package which gives you a ton of sports channels, including fsn detroit, regardless of where you live. this may be a cheaper alternative to some of you that don't want to subscribe to mlb.tv or mlb extra innings. i don't work for dish network or anything i just thought ...

Saved 26 games for Toledo this year. Low ERA, good K/bb ratio, only one dinger in 36 innings. Why isn't he being talked about. He's 30 y/o and has that lifetime minor leaguer tag stuck on him. Why hasn't this guy gotten a shot? Anybody seen this guy?

I'm wondering what kind of return the Tigers could get if they traded Polanco. He is a great value for the price but he will also be a free agent after the season. Does the organization think they can get by with Rhymes, Santiago, Raburn at 2nd? I would think the Tigers could land a solid pitcher or catcher by trading Polanco. I would really hate to see him go but he has to have some ...

I see the Tigers are working on a deal to acquire Lugo from Boston for either Robertson or Willis. I say do it. If Lugo doesn't pan out we would not have lost anything. Both teams are hoping that a change of scenery will help all parties involved. This deal cannot do anything but help both teams if a change is good for them. If not, oh well, back to the drawing board, we would be in the same ...

The Giants had a guy named Pablo Sandoval become Barry Zito's personal catcher in the month of September. Zito went 2-1, his loss came in a 3 - 1 defeat where he gave up 2 runs in 8 innings. Zito had an ERA of 3.15 while Sandoval caught for him and really only had one bad outing. Sandoval hit .345 with 3 homers and 24 RBIs in 41 games. Not bad for a guy who earned MLB minimum. I think ...

You were supposed to learn this stuff in the third grade, but obviously some didn't. To, Too, and Two. They're different words. They mean different things. You should know the difference, and if you reveal that you don't in written work, you look like an idiot. Actually, you are an idiot. Same thing goes for There, They're, and Their; and for Your and You're. Finally, it matters ...

Not a household name but he has been pretty solid lefty the last few years for the Dodgers and doesn't give up homers. I've read he will likely get 3 years and $12 million which is the price for quality setup men these days. And at 30 years old he is quite a bit younger than many of the well-seasoned setup men otherwise being mentioned as potential Tigers.

I'm counting 6, maybe 5 out of 7. I'd be okay with Bobby Seay coming back, and maybe I'd count a Blaine Neal/Joel Zumaya combo as one other bullpen slot filled. Other than than, everyone can go. What do you think, how do we fill those roster slots up.

Tigers Interested In Darren Oliver By Tim Dierkes [November 13, 2008 at 9:50am CST] Jon Paul Morosi of the Detroit Free Press talked to Darren Oliver's agent, who said the Tigers and Angels are two of four teams interested in his client. Morosi says the Tigers have also contacted the agents for Trevor Hoffman, Brandon Lyon, David Weathers, and Arthur Rhodes while also expressing interest in ...

I hate the White Sox of course, but they traded Nick Swisher to the Yankees for 3 guys including a solid bench player in Betemit? Every year I always wonder what the White Sox GM is smoking, but every year he turns out right in his moves most of the time (though I wondered why trading away Rowand and letting Brian Anderson take the reigns, but they did end up with Thome). He's one GM that...
