An "official" step down
Published (2009-11-25 11:18:00)
I'm "officially" retiring as the Administrator of Discuss Fitness but have actually thrown in the towel mentally some time ago. It's time for someone else to have the honor of this chore. I joined Discuss Fitness about 5 years ago when it was a thriving fitness forum. A couple years later I was invited to be a moderator and then about one year later to serve as co-administrator with the legendary IronMan. About 14...

great to hear from ya! Hope the work schedule gets a little more managable. I can sympathiz though. This week I went into work Tuesday at 9 AM and didnt leave until Wednesday11:30 AM. Thast right, almost 27 consecutive hours. The joys of working for a small computer company.
Glad to hear that with all the insanity that you still found time to hit the gym. How are classes going?

You should not take any supplement with your prescription drugs without discussing it with your physician or pharmacist first. GABA included.
Looking through your supplement list, I'd say keep the creatine and add some dextrose with it since you are going to be using monohydrate, keep the whey for pre/post workout nutrition if you need it and aren't getting enough protien from whole ...

Welcome.
I want to make sure that I understand you correctly. At 6:30am you get up and have a snack.
By 7:00am you're working out -- finishing by 8:00am.
The first food that you ingest after that is at 10ish, and it consists of a protein bar or light snack.
Is that correct?

well only way your gonna get Gerard Butler abs is to put on some serious mass... if you are very lean then the best you can do is flatten them babies out and make visible...
Best things for your abs are squats deadlifts, then behind those, some Decline situps. I know you workout at home, so you might not have access to a decline seat for situps. picture hanging from monkey bars by your the ...

There isn't a "best" way. I'll tell you where your abs will be found though. They are waiting for you in the kitchen. Eat right for fat loss and they will come to you.
Here is how I found mine.
Meats - any kind you want. Chicken, fish, beef, pork...
Vegetables - green as in broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, lettuce, cabbage...
Forbidden foods - bread, pasta, potatoes, NO SUGAR, NO ...

2010 Measureable Fitness Goals
That time of year again. What are your measurable fitness goals for 2010. None of this vague "I want to eat cleaner/better" stuff.
I'll come back towards the end of December and edit in where I am currently.

Bench press 135
Jog 5K
Unassisted pull up and chin up

I remember you from NaturalStrength board... Bob got tired of all the "crap" that didn't reflect his philosophy and decided to shut it down. Too bad because that was actually one of the better boards, with very little "crap" I thought.
Anyway, have you stopped by the site lately? He just recently started a new forum, it's only free to the first 100 members for the first year or something ...

Biked to gym (1/2 mile)
CFWU x 2 - dips
So I had a great idea to combine 2 wod's today. It 104 outside and I wanted to run in the gym,and get caught up. Not my best idea... Here is what I planned to do.
6 rds for time of:
1/2 mile run on the treadmill at 1%
95 pound Squat cleans: 10 reps
Dips: 10 reps
This would cover the 5k run and cleans and dips for 20 mins.

Hey, I understand your frustration. You want to discuss a higher fat, moderate protein, lower carb diet...let me know.
Benefits = improved -HDL, improved LDL, fat loss AND you keep your hard earned muscle. After a short time of low energy, you feel like you are on crank... In other words, maintainable, keepable results.
Drawbacks = feel like sh*t for a few days, can only use "hardcore ...

Well if you see the 2005 Olympia, where Arnold gives Coleman the Sandown, Arnold does look every bit 6ft2 compared to Colemans 5ft11 and then if you see when Arnold and Lou competed, lou looks every bit 6ft5 compared to Arnolds 6ft2 .

I would suggest:
Walking Lunges
High Step-ups (maybe on a 24' plyo box or something)
Sprinting
Deep Squats (can be done as long as trainer & athlete are on the same page)
