Nikon D40 is hot! Accept it! There are many point and shooters here shifting to D40, first timers buying D40 instead of p&s, hobbyist and prof. photogs also buying D40, jedis buying D40?. Well, maybe because of its affordability, and with pictures comparable with some expensive DSLR. Because of this, I'm seeing a lot of DPP members making their own threads to post their D40 shots, the ...

These are not necessarily nightscapes (I doubt a picture of a heavy equipment qualifies as one). A picture of an ugly place, or anything that looks far from beautiful during the day, that looks beautiful or becomes extraordinary when captured under the moonlight is an example. ...

Using a aps-c sensor or 40d. Dreaming someday owning a full frame dslr. Which lens to invest an EF or EF-S? Can you use your EF-S on a FF? Thanks.

BTW, Marlon when you describe the lens as soft, is it soft at the edges or all around soft. I shoot film mostly now and I don't have the benefit of an LCD screen for quick feedback on my settings and image quality. I need a lens I can rely on to capture moments I can ...

I had mixed feelings of shock and amazement to see early this week that nearly all trees in front of the Manila Cathedral had been cut down. At first thought, I said WOW!... no more obstructions shooting the Cathedral's facade. But then again, the collateral damage was enormous! 29 full-grown trees, mostly narra, felled to the ground! This was the shot I made two years ago:...
