I think your mechanic helped you enough. I would stick with the DP tuner and install it yourself it's easy. The directions are pretty SIMPLE to follow IF you can follow simple directions unlike some people..

Have you replaced the bad GP's? The pulsing of the controller is normal after the GP's have reached proper temperature.
How long does the wait to start light stay on when you first turn the key on with a cold engine?
How fast does the starter spin, can you count the revolutions?
How old/good are the batteries?
Oil pressure, what valves? Intake/exhaust, or are you talking about the ...

Get the main power from the solenoid on the passenger fender (with a fuse).
I would use a bosch style relay ($6) and tap an accessory fuse in the
fusebox for switch power. That will keep majority of the load off of the
ignition switch. A little more work but worth it.

Thanks for the update. I had to take my truck in for my 2nd radiator and
told them to do all the latest updates. I have not done any up to this
point so we'll see how things work afterwards. Hoping for better MPG's.

Are you filling it back up to the line on the dipstick.......
Post from a pro......

Oil consumption, and the proper checking of the oil levels in Ford diesels comes up periodically. Ford dipsticks are calibrated for hot oil. The 10 quarts in the IDI engines expand about 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart as the oil heats up, and contracts the same amout after cooling. If you check the...

You will likley get alot of different opinins on this one. Here's my 2 cents. I just replaced the batteries on my 7.3L Ex. After some research, I went with Walmart Everstart Maxx's. $75.00 each.Best price, equal or better 3yr non prorated, 7yr prorated warranty. Plus (the big reason for me) if you have a problem, there's a Walmart open 24hrs everywhere. They are 850 CCA each. Replaced them myself...

The '08 rear bumper will bolt up to '99-07 like stock but the hole for the
spare winch will be on the wrong side, which is only important if you keep
your spare under the bed. Other than that no problems.

the "PROPER" way to time it is with a special tool that uses a luminosity probe in the #1 cylinder or a special pick up device on the #1 injector line. Best take it to a shop that has the equipment to do it.
There are other reasons for it to smoke. Is the smoke white or black and under what conditions does it smoke. ie: at start-up, hard accelleration, all the time....

The second picture looks kind of like an injector tip to me. I have seen one embedding in a piston before. But if that were the case, the injector in that cylinder should be missing it's tip..
The wire, I have no ideas on.
What is Ford saying you did to cause this? If the truck is truly stock, I would make them put their reasons for denial in writing and then go up the food chain.

We have a fleet of 15 Fords, ranging from 7.3l IDI to 7.3, 6.0, 6.4
Powerstrokes, I usually replace the batteries every two years, I assumed it
was because it is a commercial application, but I guess it is just Ford. We
run Interstate batteries, when I replace them I take them back and get
Interstate to check them out. Last week I had one bad and the other one
probably could have been saved, but ...

I just got it too. I've had the truck since '02 and I'm not all that
worried yet. I am wondering that since they have to open up the brake
system on the truck if they will completely bleed the system including the
abs unit. I'd like that. What I don't like is the fact that I haven't had
the CPS recall done nor do I want it done. I really don't like the fact
that someone else has to drive my truck...
