You need to understand when most projects are outsourced, the need for more project managers here is reduced. Which is bad. I've seen in many companies, that when the economy goes bad, the first thing to cut are project managers and functional roles, except for the top level roles such as IT manager/Director. They just keep the most technical and technical lead guys.

Need help : want to get OUT of IT

Leverage your IT experience to get OUT of IT Can you slowly transition into a NON IT job at your current employer ? A math degree should allow one to go into business management at least on the finance end. Consider your IT experiences as SUPPORTING a NON IT business. You don't have an IT career but were a SUPPORT professional for a NON IT business.

Maybe this has to do with extreme difficulty that Americans have claiming SAP experience, relative to the comparative ease that Indians have claiming the same experience? **** If I were to buy a full-service policy at my age, it would cost at least $10k/year, ... and that's if I stay relatively healthy, they raise the premiums (a lot!) if you make major claims. But under this bill, they *can't* raise premiums (a lot!) anymore based on claims - so instead, they will have to raise the base rate - by how much? Take your guess. I'll say very conservatively (!), $2,000. But wait, there's more!...

OP should abandon IT Best of Luck News that the OP doesn't want to hear but UOP is considered a joke and not a real university. Here's my take. A contract between two entities is a contract. It can have whatever terms the two parties agree to include as long as it doesn't violate State or Federal law. The non-solicitation clause generally prohibits you from soliciting employees or customers of the agency or of the end-client and persuading them to leave and come work with/for you or someone else....

I can probably prove that the work in my field has moved abroad and I can probably qualify. Does anyone have experience with how this relo works? What they pay for & don't pay for? Max amount covered? Whether you continue getting ...

1st, 7 months isn't short any more. 2nd, since your manager is supportive, yes, you could ask if he can get you another assignment. 3rd, there are many cases where customers have had unrealistic expectations, where your work is part of something they promised someone, but that can't be delivered on time and/or as expected. In the case of the Gov., that could include ...

At least you have some help desk experience. I would go for MCSE that's what I am doing now and you can use you A+ as an elective. It's because of the economy, people who finished school before us where able to have those jobs + training when they graduated. Now they do not want to train because they're cutting payroll. They are considering Master's like bachelor's now, so it...

Odds are there will be one or two. If a Pakistani MD in England can be persuaded to be Jihadist and try to blow up an airport parking lot, so can some nut with an H1B. But then there is no more reason to think an H1B will be more dangerous than an immigrant. What was Mohammed Atta's status? The key risk seems to be being Muslim and then being in the .01% of them that want ...

It's clearly competition from low wage countries that produced the Rust Belt and maybe now the Info Crust. I guess economists will always argue about protectionism vs so called free trade, but we see no black and white examples of either. There's a contradiction it seems - if protectionism in the long run is bad for us (middle classes), how is losing our middle class from ...
