If you have the Windows Disc and the Drivers and Utilities that will allow you to do a complete clean install (including reformatting the hard drive). The basic install sequence is (1) Install Windows (2) Install Intel chipset drivers (3) Install device drivers such as sound, video, ethernet, etc. HERE is the Dell reinstall instructions.

If so, is the Belkin router a dual band wireless router?   Your wireless router should have these settings for everything to work. This is the first step.   Update the firmware at the manufacturers website.   Broadcast SSID(Change the SSID to make the new connection work easier)   Use WPA-PSK(TKIP)...

Boot into the bios (F2) and make sure the system is indeed seeing all your hard drives. If not you need to first check the cables to make sure it did not some how work loose.I would suggest you unplug it and reconnect it.

When 1 hinge is loose, opening the laptop causes a lot of tension on the other hinge, which is mounted in the plastic cover holding the screen. The tension bends the plastic cover, the screen gets part of the tension in that corner if forced. The crack should be in that corner. Do all systems have identical hardware, eg video cards, RAM, etc? Are they all in the exact same environment, eg under a desk, in a corner..? With all the variables, I'm not sure you can really tell if this is a design difference between the systems, ...

Hi there ~ My one and only concern is static in the headphone jack on top of the machine. It's not a *dire* concern, because I do have alternatives available, but I was wondering if anyone had found a fix for it. Thanks for starting a new thread, Jon. Good to "see" you again.

I ordered my studio xps 8000 on 10/11 and the original est. delivery date was 10/26. This was delayed to 11/2 and then again to 11/9. I called customer support and they were really unhelpful, just said the expected lines and would not upgrade my shipping. I noticed the xps 8000 at all my area Best Buys. I guess they are busy building for them and all of us internet orders are paying for it...
