I'm running elseed for caller-id (hence the "Modem: OK" and "Caught Signal" messages). Code: #:/var$ Caught signal, standby while exiting... (signo=14) Modem: OK Caught signal,...

Ill try to locate the file for you. If I recall correctly it was posted on one of the Tivo Australia message boards and was part of a package that included about 10 DNS capable network tools. The archive had the word libresolv in the name. Realize the netcat binary is called "nc"
Edit: I found the file on my computer and its called libresolv-0.1-bins. tar.gz
There is another set of DNS ...

Here is what I know so far:
OS 4.0b
Native drivers support Linksys USB200M V1.0
OS 6.1
Native drivers support Linksys USB200M V1.0
It is currently my belief that the above OS's should support same NICs as for 6.2a. However I don't have proof yet.

Holy Crap! Thank you for this awesome writeup! Almost makes me feel like I could do it!
Now, after the next update walks over your hacks, how much of this has to be repeated? (I'm braced for the answer = "all of it".)
Also, if I'm understanding this post by cartouchbea correctly, doing the noencrpyt patch actually is not desirable if your primary interest is TTG rather than MRV (...

I'm trying to use htpdate and it wont work unless I supply an IP address as opposed to www.google.com . It comes back with an error of can't resolve the name. I've put in various DNS server names in the Tivo and no change to htpdate.
wget works with both IP addresses and www.google.com .
Anyone have any ideas why my htpdate doesn't work?

You can't change a running Tivoapp -- you have to copy Tivoapp to a backup,
modify the backup, swap them and reboot.

I just had some really sharp looking "Serial" stickers printed as a label to use before drilling the backplate hole to place the serial port in the S3. You can see them above. I also added a simple but extremely functional AMP PLCC Extraction tool included free on the "Premium" service.

If you're seeing beginning&end processing errors with projectx, but the rest of the .ts is fine, then I'd suspect problems with projectx. Why don't you verify your .ts with something more standard like a media player (vlc, xine, mplayer), or a known working media repack tool (videoredo).

What model s2 TiVo do you have?
Are you trying to have your TiVo record both analog and digital OTA channels, or just one or the other?
Are you also trying to have it record cable TV and/or satellite channels?

I use MPEG Streamclip, which is a lovely free graphical program that can edit MPEG files without re-encoding them, which makes editing very fast. It can also convert all or part of the file to just about any other format. And it also edits many other kinds of video files.
I've only used this on a Mac, but there is also a Windows version. On the Mac it requires that you have the MPEG ...
