Hrm, I've just came across another show with the exact same glitch. Different series, but the same thing. This time it was temporal_reference order 2 instead of 5, but I see the same issue playing it back in VLC (elapsed time reverts to negative and counts up). Sorry to pester on this, but I'm using tytompg as part of an automated script, and since it's failing silently, I don't notice until a lot of rencoding and transfer...

In that sample, I can see that at chunk 5, the PTS timestamps for both the audio & video streams suddenly jump from ~417455697 to ~6864850, then proceed normally with their new values. 417455697/90000=4638 seconds, and 6864850/90000=76 seconds. So the timers aren't crossing any sort of bit boundary or wrapping around, they are just arbitrarily changing at one point. Maybe the broadcaster is re-packing channels and changing...

I downloaded tytompg-1.1.zip (367.2 KB, 593 views) tytompg-1.1-osx.zip (146.7 KB, 52 views) from the #1 post, but cannot get any of the binaries to launch (getting bus errors and nonexecutable binaries). Are any of these executables expected to work on a mac-mini PowerPC under 10.4? Everything seems to be labeled "-x86".

I just had some really sharp looking "Serial" stickers printed as a label to use before drilling the backplate hole to place the serial port in the S3. You can see them above. I also added a simple but extremely functional AMP PLCC Extraction tool included free on the "Premium" service.

You'll only see slices show up in /var/packages on a dtivo when connecting to tivo via phone/network. Information from the satellite ( AFAICT) is not sent in the same slice format and loaded into MFS in a completely different manner.
If you're wanting to retrieve the guide data from the unit, you'll probably have to craft a script to scarf it from MFS after it's been loaded. If you force ...

You might try the mempool size specified here . Yours (16M) may be too big. You might also try the p2. tcl also linked from that thread.

Congrats, this sounds like a great enhancement to tytompg! And thanks again for continuing to provide mac versions. I don't want to hijack this thread, but I noticed this version works on 10.5 "out of the box". I'm curious, were you able to figure out the issue, or did you just pre-apply my workaround? We can take this over to the mac support thread if you'd prefer...

a lifetime sub via directv has absolutely nothing to do with a standalone tivo, therefore tivo will not acknowledge or honor it as a true lifetime sub
the original fixsub script won't work for setting the necessary variables to allow manual recording on an s3 without a sub (manual recording is as good as you'll get with no sub unless you find a way to insert your own guide data)
