It is the student's responsibility to inform the school of his needs. He can't win a suit unless he can prove that he suffered damages. Since he wasn't hurt in the fire, he has no damages. He should aggressively pursue getting an adequate smoke/fire alarm for his floor and room immediately. Deaf dyke, my kids are still young. They had horrible ear problems and had tubes in their ears for the toddler and preschool years. I don't think that's related to the hearing loss at all. oh boy. me too. several friends of mine lost their luggages and never saw them again. SHe borrowed a few clothes from mine and i never saw my old clothes and fake necklaces again. one time, we flied to florida and then came back to NY. I was freaking out when i thought my luggage was lost for good. But 2 hours later, someone else sent it to the wrong plane. i got the luggage back.

I don't know if there is any truth to this, but I have heard that at least sixty-percent (60%) of Deaf people are unemployed.
It seems a bit far-fetched.
