Well, apparently my last post didn't have that much of an impact. Quote from: MILLANDSON There is just something about the tactile sensation of a book, the texture, smell, and visual stimulus that no mere computer or e-reader can reproduce. Kind of by definition. Sorry if this seems like I'm using your flaying your post, MILLANDSON, but this gets into the point about arguing the merits of the preferred media. (And I...

Indeed, they are already pirated, but having it only in a physical copy makes it harder to do that, compared to a PDF. Plus, could they justify their costs for a PDF when entire RPG books sell for the same price as their codexes, etc, in PDF form?

What's really funny, as far as this subject goes, is that the pirates already have GWs scanned and posted. Sorry for the drama but it's something of a short fuse subject for me ( I am the person that refers to Kindel as Fahrenheit 451 light ). Ironically, 1984 probably does come on pdf, someplace.

I'd say Hive worlds are pretty common. Not exactly numerous, but more or less like the major cities of a nation. So in a given sector you'd have a handful of Hive Worlds creating the major trade routes, and both creating and consuming the most resources (other than food, those are agri-worlds, obviously). Think about what New York City, DC, Chicago, Boston, and LA are to the USA. There...

I think Mill is right. GW's policy is not about stopping piracy as they have lost that battle a long time ago. It is about protecting the "Warhammer hobby". That hobby, according to GW, is about physical things; physical books, miniatures, people and shops. Only when it benefits GW will they do something digital (like sell licenses to game developers or run their own online shop).

Best weapon in the game?
Published (2009-11-25 17:48:00)
I find that bonus silly in reality your actualy ALOT less accurate for doing so the thing is it is less expensive than eldar weapon and far less rare. Far as tearing book never says a thing in DH about it on standard pattern but I'll take it. My main reason for feeling it is the best is it is great for almost any situation. It isint the most powerful no or the best AP but it can alone scare off petty foes and give you a chance even...

It seems to me that your best bet would be to present a scenario where the Imperium is helpful in some significant way, even despite it's flaws. For example, you could present a scenario in which the Arbites are genuinely helpful in controlling a situation as it spins out of control, or an investigation that really requires synergy with the local Administratum clerks to track down information that otherwise would be near impossible to...

Well, it largely depends on your interpretation of the Schizmatical's "Machine Contagion" special ability. The schizmatical is limited in how quickly it can infect machines around itself (1d10 Rounds to convert non-sentient items into new schizmaticals) and is limited on it's range for how many machines it can control in this way ( 10 meters, and only as many controlled devices as it's DoS to ...

Would it not be simpler just to give them a common quality weapon with that upgrade instead of changing the rules for good quality into exactly that?

Nice work - look forward to seeing the rest. Like most Eldar weapons the Ranger Long Rifle has chnaged over the years - IIRC a high proportion of the basic Eldar weapons orginally was las based but now has become more Shuriken focussed - presumably to highlight the tech difference / advanced nature of Eldar weaponry. I know for a time theLong rifle was a needle sniper rifle - not sure if it is ...

Well, I would suggest getting hold of the 2nd edition WFRP, which is the one that is similar to the DH system. You can get it for about ?20 on Amazon, sometimes ?15.

I love the idea, and I loved the story! As I read it, I was thinking "Slaanesh". Kinda obvious, but this story gives an example of just how sneaky the servants of the twisted one interacts with society on one hand, and keeps another practice going beyond closed doors. As a descriptive technique, I learned that the withholding of details can actually enhance the description. Example: "Ugh! I ...

So, since my last game fizzled, I'm looking to try another one. I'm looking for, again, 4-8 players, with 5-7 being the sweet spot. Daienden - ? 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Tips, Rules & Guidelines: Character Generation: I use a...

I have to agree that the firebomb is easily the most generally effective weapon, but it is instantly made useless when used anywhere collateral damage is a bad thing. In my games, for example, there is a consequence for setting public property on fire. This could theoretically be hand-waved by the =][= in the sky, but after a while I think the Acolytes' sponsor would tire of it. EDIT: Also, ...

a) I would imagine there'd be the storage and cargo bays, crew and officer quarters, the bridge, various generators, stuff like that. It'd really depend on who owned the ship, as a Naval vessel is highly unlikely to contain any cargo bays, instead having things devoted for warfare, whereas a little transport would have very little other than cargo bays. b) I'd much more imagine for the second ...

I played First Edition 40k when it was released but didn't keep up with it in subsequent editions. Now, several years (erm, decades ) later, I've been introduced to Dark Heresy. Somehow it's surprising how much of the background is the same as it always was but one thing that is really bugging me is that of the different categories of worlds, Civilised Worlds seem to have been expunged. I don't...

absolutly nothing good i would imagine, although its exact contents would sit somewhere between totally runined dead world to chaos infested hell hole based on your own view of what the tyrant star is. in short its up to you, but im reminded of the planet the flects in Ravenor came from.

I think moving to true capital ships/battleships will require a completely different ruleset, or simply treating RT size ships facing a capital ship like you would handle a fighter/shuttle against an RT size ship. For the adventure, I'd just stat a salvaged and overhauled Rightous Path as a Cruiser with some nice stat buffs, and a good chunk of archeotech components (not that they'd all work ...

The thing about Tech-Priests is that you're not going to have to overtly worry about the "big boned," whether they be male or female. (Why does the gender matter to a priest of the Adeptus Mechanicus ? Would they ever be "big boned" in the first place, given that they can surgical alter themselves? Does that 90kg derive from the 'flesh' of the character, or how much of it is the result of the ...

I'd just come up with a ritual to fulfil a specific need in my game, which I thought I'd share. So if anyone else has some, please add them to the thread. Rite of the Vassal Revenant Usage : Where an Acolyte has dishonoured the Inquistor or has committed a serious misdemeanor or crime, but who is still loyal and potentially useful to them. Description : The subject is disarmed and brought ...
