Well if I understand what you're saying correctly then you just acquired the dgl-4500 router. If you can return it to the point of sale for a refund then I'd box it up and run it back right now. After you get a refund then purchase a netgear wndr3700 and enjoy a problem free gaming experience at home. I'm sure this will earn me more negative karma but oh well.

Reconfigure your
firewall software or Win firewall. A new router is a new network for the firewall, so in most cases you need to remove all exceptions and set them new.

D-link I finally went the same route. I got myself a Linksys WRT610N 5 / 2.4 ghz and it works flawlessly.... Wake up dlink, another customer's bit the dust..

I don't think that you can see it on the router. Where you can see it on the client computer depends upon the operating system and driver software. For example, in Vista if you open up the Network and Connections center and click on the "Status" of the

My recommendation, if you can... return the router and get your money back. Then use it to buy a Linksys G model for DD-WRT firmware. Much better firmware, much better range, and about $250 cheaper. If you find later you do want N on the 5GHz band, then get an
