Is Jamaica losing reggae? By Steven Jackson Sunday Observer writer Sunday, November 22, 2009 Few Jamaicans chart in Japan, US and Europe signalling, as pundits suggest, that international reggae doesn't need Jamaica. The charts in Japan, Germany, Switzerland and New Zealand, up to yesterday, had only one Jamaican-born artiste - Bob Marley - in the top ten. The US and France were also low at three and four Jamaicans charting respectively...

When I did some research about that "Reggae Compassion Act", one response by Reggae vocalists (have no name at hand right now) was that it should have been called "Dancehall Compassion Act" since it was not the Roots and Culture singers but the Dancehall vocalists who were the target by this group usually called "gay rights activists". I find it strange that what they call...

We recognized that Fans were disappointed when the previously planned show was cancelled for reasons beyond our control" said Eric, owner of Action

skeleton ever found,from
Ethiopia is housed. After doing a quick search online ,I learned archeologists have found even older remains (5 million years old) once again,in Ethiopia

thing which I can understand of course, I'm ...

I agree.Great documentary.A little footnote:
1:The footage of Lee "Scratch" Perry voicing riddims was filmed at Randy's Studio, with the late ET Thompson at the controls.
2:The Bunny Lee/Prince Jammy footage is filmed at none other than King Tubby;s studio (yes ,those are real egg crates on the walls of the vocal booth ;-))
