QUOTE (Yerolo @ Nov 7 2009, 10:06 AM) I miss the old 'theme' of the IQ1 (ie Blue). The new theme is too bright on the eyes in a dark room (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif ) Hopefully they release an option to change the background color on the guide as well You can change back to blue if you want.

With some adjustments to the G you can get it to look very similar to the V in “THX” mode. “THX” mode is just a preset calibration that supposedly conforms to the normal video standards for primary/secondary colour points, grey scale and gamma. All TV’s should conform to these standards but deliberately don’t as this setup does not look impressive in the showroom and would not sell. The advantage of “THX” mode is that supposedly no...

QUOTE (souwalker @ Nov 7 2009, 02:27 PM) Which one is better then the other? Is CloneDVD better the DVDFab? I can't say better, but I have used dvdfab decrypter and in its pay / trial state it does the job easily. In the free mode, inconjunction with dvdshrink, the results are good too.

If your happy to go with second hand LuckyDog on this forum has almost finished his clear out sale, but still has a pair of TAG 3.5 speakers for $2k. RRP of them back in the day was $7k and having seen them myself they are still in magnificent condition. Worth a look see and a listen if you can. You could look around for other 2nd hand goodies to fill the other spots as well.

Odd Choice In Hd Channel Lineup
Published (2009-11-06 13:54:00)
QUOTE (frostyfruit @ Nov 5 2009, 09:40 AM) Is Starpics 2 HD going to be available just so Movie Network can have ' presence' with three HD channels for the sake of it? I don't see Showcase 2 HD or W2 HD being offered. Surely it cant be because the programming on Starpics 1 HD is just so earth shattering that if you miss it you'll never forgive yourself. Yep, Starpics 2 HD is only there for the pathetic...

Problem is it'd prob interfere with my work... Following the Bulls Vs Cav game atm. Play-by-play alone has made my heart race! Funny as I am not a fan of either team... But I do love close games....

It isn't superceded but Sony offers the PS3 only with W-series and above. BTW the PS3 will be a very good investment because the upcoming TV tuner attachment will turn it into a PVR.

Deep Impact Not Hd

It is very disapointing to see that Deep Impact is not in HD on PRIME, in late 2009, you'd think that all movies would be available in HD, not so apparantly.

Hi Any members here rip their own CD collections and pump it through your Hi Fi system, via media streamers or other sources? If you do, what format do you rip them to and what bit rate? I know, mp3s, for example, will not sound as good as the CDs but some have various results depending on the rip rate. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many Thanks & Rgds Patrick...

My misses purchased a 40Z5500 for $1795 yesterday, and I've got to say that *so far* I'm a little underwhelmed with it. I made the mistake of letting her get it before I had a chance to take a look at it, and so far IMHO, the PQ has left a lot to be desired......especially on SD stuff. morning! ok firstly since you are using the spdif (digital output) from the laptop all discussion of DACs are out (since you are using the DACs in the amp - the same DACs you are using when you use the digital output from CD/dvd/etc). Oh you are kidding? Grrr.... I mean, ditching the breakaway is one thing (but most of the breakaway stuff lately has been 4:3/SD upscaled) but I thought the ditching of breakaway would mean all the good stuff I love on SD would be HD if they source it as that.. At least it was on the HD channel, as that is the one I recorded (haven't had a chance to watch it yet)......

My concern is SD will look pretty ordinary on this TV, and at such a close distance, even worse (as I have witnessed at shops). So a 46" Pana V10 would have been perfect but they dont...
