Most of these have amplifiers tuned to analog channels. The digital channels are on different channels, so these systems must be modified. Many are wired with poor quality cable as well. Brisbane v Melbourne on Fox Sports HD2 last night was not high definition, but rather upscaled standard definition. The Electronic Program Guide used the 'HD' logo to advertise this game, which is lying. This post has been edited by ozboy : Today, 07:18 AM

Also, does the std remote which comes with the unit have a mute function? Steven Hobart This post has been edited by splashalot : Nov 8 2009, 04:33 PM

I have just been checking out all the new HD channels and it seems to me like *some* of the HD programming on these channels are SD upconverts. Fox Sports II, III, The View, Fox 8 HD, etc. Or is it just a really crappy bitrate that Foxtel are employing to squeeze out more channel space on the new Sat? I agree. It's not just the lack of testing that is a concern to me, its also the complete lack of regression testing i.e. bugs that get fixed in one version reappear in a later version. I also have a 7000 that I'm looking to replace and there is not a single HD PVR that I'm willing to pay for at the moment. Instead, I'm considering the Panasonic XW350 DVR.
