Have you had DIRECTV installed yet? If not, good chance you'll get a SWM system from DIRECTV. If not, you'll get an AU9 dish which is easily converted to SWM by swapping out the LNB and adding in the power inserter and SWM splitter.

Non-SWM to SWM Setup

There is a total distance limitation of 150 feet. That is total, from the LNB through the SWM, through the power inserter, to the farthest receiver. Other than that, there is no issue of distance between the LNB and SWM8.

When deactivating a receiver, CSR's are asked to put in an (optional) code. There's a specific code for maintenence/temporary (do not send return kit), however, most csr's just leave it blank and the system doesnt usually send a return kit if it doesnt have a reason code to. Thats why sometimes people dont receive return kits but get billed for receivers not returned. The CSR didnt put in the reason code, the box didnt get...

As long as you are using an rf remote, you can indeed set all 3 positions to work in rf mode (dtv, av1, av2). Not sure why yours didn't work initially.
However, there is also no reason that your ir settings should not work. Try a master reset of the remote, then go back through remote setup with each unit.

Does this mean we are going to get charged for HD this year? Has anyone heard what the plans are for HD broadcasts this year?...

The other thing I like is that "twists" just keep coming, differentiating this series from the original. I loved the new twist at the end, regarding Mother. I did not see that coming.

We were very disappointed in this episode.
We were so hyped up as last years Slapsgiving 1 was just "LEGENDARY"
This one was a let down, and Marshal airballed the slap.

I do not believe it is on the recommended list. I don't remember the
specifics, but I know there is a size limitation on the HR20s that is
different from that of the HR21/22/23s.

Really enjoyed the show! Usually I just vote for one couple but tonight i voted for everyone but Mollee & Nathan. Give 'em a few more years and i'd vote for them too but for now I find them too immature. I hope they don't stay on in place of Karen and Victor but am afraid they might. Karen and Victor had a superb tango but then got stuck with a lemon routine by (who else) LaurieAnne Gibson.

I voted no because it isn't for the most part. I might hear it a couple of times a day. I was much louder on the last release.

I noticed over the past two weeks or three that the SD spot beam channels (locals) have an increased amount of pixelization compared to just a month ago. It is definitely noticable when there is significant movement . All the locals are demonstrating this effect. My signal is good and the conus channels look pretty much the same as always, which is ok.
I am wondering if D* had increased the ...

The HR2x line clearly lacks the horsepower and the character generator to pull it off.
As Echostar's long (and still) awaited 922 has web browsing capabilities, they're almost certainly thinking about it.

I work for At&T and can get a concession price on Uverse if I switch. But I won't.
I will admit though, if it were not for constant monitoring of this forum, my frustrations with Directv would have pushed me away a long time ago.
