Both of them are head cases and attention mongers. Their situation was screwed up at best-10 kids in this day and age. What concerns me is that neither one seems to have been looking out for their kids. Some therapist is going to be making a boat load of money...

Limiting building permits?
Published (2009-11-12 15:04:00)
Quote: Originally posted by cch So, this township I am helping with their zoning ordinance re-write, has in their comprehensive plan a recommendation to only issue two new residential building permits each year. I advised them that the recommendation to do that doesn't really give them teeth, and they may want to address it (and all the potential questions and issues it could bring up) in an ordinance. So, where do you guys think this...

It's not really a person, but sex scandals (any of them, but especially political ones). People are human, therefore not perfect. So are really that scandalous? Deal with it however it's appropriate for the situation, get over it, and move on. "Let s/he who is blameless cast the first stone...", etc.

The government has never had the power to seize private property for commercial use without establishing a public purpose nexus. New London, in the opinion of five justices of the Supreme Court, did exactly that: they established a public purpose nexus.

I find it funny that people are up in arms about this. If you steal the game (which I really hate the music industry for being so crazy about piracy, but I digress) you can still play it, just not on the service that Microsoft provides.
Honestly, people think that they are owed everything. The service Microsoft Live gives is not a right. I read an article yesterday, which I can't seem ...

Sadly, it happens. In the past when I see these kind of postings, I've called ahead of applying and asked specifically if there are internal candidates. Most will give you a real answer.
EDIT: I actually did this recently and got the scoop that there are NO internal candidates, so try, it can't hurt!

I do not like cats. Actually, I don't like dogs either. Which sucks since I have a 6-year old mutt. When he's gone, my wife and daughters will have to go to extraordinary lengths to convince me to get another dog. Basically, I've realized I don't enjoy sharing my living space with other living mammals, besides human beings. They're hairy, smelly and I have to pick up/clean their shit. My ...

Are you in an accredited BArch program? I agree that in these times going straight on for a second, different degree is a good idea. However, if you already have a design degree under your belt, you might be able to finish an MLA in 2 years instead of 3. Since you are working towards architecture and LA degrees focus on taking some courses in urban design, if they are available. There is "...

I believe a large part of why I lost my job over a year ago was the perceived view of the economic impacts of some of the ordinances I was working on with the staff. As things started to slow down fingers were being pointed and unbased fears were arising with the tree protection, cluster development, and corridor studies we were doing. Forget the fact that the county had at least 10,000 housing...

I think the national media has an attitude of laziness about declining or stagnant metros. They hold on to stereotyped images that make them think there could not possibly be any attractive people looking to live in attractive houses in these places.
They can only imagine making a show using a beer drinking fat ex-steelworker and his Kmart cashier wife looking to buy a 1950's ranch house ...

When does the 2 year period start? Some places have it upon completion of improvements, but what is more common in these parts is 2 years from the date that the development is at 80% build-out of homes. Given the housing market, the later is preferrable.
