It is really not possible to comment with any degree of confidence because we don't know enough about your AVM and its treatment. It sounds like it was probably pretty large. That increases the risk of
radiation damage and decreases somewhat the chance of control with radiosurgery. You should have a sit-down with your CK team and see what they say.

These are uncommon problems. Stanford has the most experience, and in fact we had a recent case that we sent there. It is a potentially
dangerous place to treat, but treatment may be safer than leaving it alone. If I were you, I would get the CT and/or MRI images and send them to Stanford. You can find their contact information at http://www.accuray.com/SiteLocations/index.aspx. I can't ...

Prognosis for control of these small lesions is excellent. however a fiducial marker (gold seed) will need to be placed in or near each or most of these lesions for tracking purposes. I do not think that CK will alter the natural course of the disease, but may delay future symptoms or problems. There are probably numerous others just
below the radar, too small to visualize as of yet.

My 7x6mm
acoustic neuroma diagnosed in late dec,2007 showed no growth in MRI taken in may,2008. Next MRI I plan on scheduling in december. I attended an AN miniconference two weeks ago in New Jersey reaffirmimg my decision to wait and watch unless new symptoms appear,(only some hearing loss on left side now), or if MRI monitoring shows a steady growth rate. In those cases, I was advised to have ...

I don't think that there is anything that is curative that can be offered. It is not that no one cares, and it is likely not a question of insurance. We treat about 15% of our patients with
no hope of ever getting paid, and most doctors do the same. It is just that sometimes we do not have the answers that people want. I understand your anguish, and wish we could help. But I don't think CK...
