QUOTE (jimmytftw35 @ Nov 8 2009, 09:35 PM) I just bought some furniture from Ashley but did not apply for credit , but the saleman informed me that they have 3 different banks the can apply through Citi , WF and the other I cant recall . That way they have a better chance to get people approved . 3 HARDS TO INCREASE THE "COST" OF THE FURNITURE A HARD is a "COST" to many of us who are not...

QUOTE (hendry70 @ Nov 8 2009, 07:38 PM) QUOTE “ Does the average person really need to see their credit reports more than once every four months? Do you need to look at it daily?” asked Edgar Dworsky, founder of ConsumerWorld.org and a former member of Experian’s consumer advisory panel, referring to credit monitoring services. “That’s paranoia.” Lots of paranoid people here. nah...where just above...

I'm not scared either, the damage is done. I wish I wouldn't have left the PRs until last, but they seemed daunting, I just dispute both of them about 3 times a year LOL. I'm going to try and get a super tomorrow and then see how far up I can go. Really, I think this "unpaid" baddie coming off my reports will help considerably. (I hope). I hope it's not like my other baddies, which have actually started...

Just tell him exactly what you said here. You were clear and concise. When you tell him, leave no room for error or misunderstanding that it is indeed over. I think you should tell him via email since he's already out and you are in the middle of a break, so you are already 1/2 broken up. Telling via email will allow you to be exact in your words and allow yourself to be "heard" without his interruptions and his...

For years people in the UK had to suffer with high APR cards. The average APR over there is 20%+ on a prime card.

What good would closing the account do? It'd cost them more and benefit you unless you are worried about average CL.

Hmmm...I think the responses are going to be mixed. There are a lot of people on here who operate on the basis that they don't pay interest or pay AFs to keep a card and they might close an account before accepting a rate jackage...however, those same folks tend to PIF and not carry balances. Personally, I think I need a little more information from you. Are you done paying off the other ...

Even if I get RJ on my Citi card I will not close and will most likely not call for a reduction. One of my oldest cards.

What state are you in? Are the CAs outside of the SOL? That may determine your plan of action.

QUOTE (Elizabeth_Speaking @ Nov 5 2009, 10:11 PM) CH, very sorry to hear about all the stress you have going on right now. I hope you get through it without having to pay out a bunch of money. The reason I asked how they get people's numbers is because I have used my debit card online a LOT. I'll not do it again! It can happen with a CC as well, in fact it happens about as ...

I last used a credit card with a NYC taxi during a visit in May. When I keyed in a $1.60 tip on an $8 fare (vs. the minimum suggested of $2), the driver reacted as if I had reached over the seat and tried to pry one of his kidneys loose, ranting about the surcharges even after I slammed the door on him. Wished I'd stiffed him!

The lower the balance of a simple interest loan, the less interest is charged each month. The month's interest is approximately the balance multiplied by the APR (as a fraction, not a percent, for example 18% = 0.18) and divided by 12 (since APR is annual, not monthly). Your required payment may or may not decrease because the balance is reduced, depending on the terms of the loan. If it...
