Heard a further report that the officers were sitting having breakfast, reading papers, working on their laptops. I only hope it was fast, because they evidently had no warning. If that doesn't sound like most of us before shift, I don't know what does.

The real question, is there a war going on against law officer's' out there that law enforcement officer's should be aware of? Do not become complacent and assume that because you work in the courts that you are immune to this type of EXECUTION. There were four police officers EXECUTED last year in California, where two motorcycle cops who issued a traffic ticket to a perp and the perp shot the cops dead, execution style. The...

As you go about your day tomorrow give a thought to Tommy Jurgens. Nov. 30 is his birthday. He would have been 35 years old.

Very sad story. RIP to the deputies and thoughts/prayers to their families. Last week in my command, guys in my unit had a gun collar at the mags. Just seconds before the arrest, the perp was walking the streets with that loaded weapon. Apparently, she was on her way to family court. Never let your guard down be it on the street or within the courthouses we work. You never know who you may be dealing with/what that person may be capable of...

ALWAYS keep your eyes and ears open, and ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. Remember, the savages know who you are...you don't who the savages are until the last second!

Toilet water. Well, it's very cold. It has sort of a lead pipe taste. Not too much tho. Overall, it's not that bad.

It is all smoke and mirrors:
1. Most State Employees do not make $15,000 in OT. A few with details or gig, sure. Most, no. AND, the cap is not 15k, it is $15k PLUS 3% each year. So when
the first Tier V employee retires in 2040, it will be what, $30K??????
2. The rise to 38% penalty at 55 means NOTHING. How many people do you know who took the 27% current penalty and get out at 55? ...

I have no problem with the water cooler. I won't drink City water.
But maybe the IRS would be interested in the iPod. THAT should be reported as INCOME.

EXCELLENT REMINDER!!! this just shows how quickly a situation can turn to sh#t.....
Be alert, be prepared, and wear your vests!! As much as we don't like to, and we feel "safe" in our buildings,
this could happen to anyone of us in the hallways and courtrooms!
