QUOTE (Shingo @ Nov 26 2008, 11:50 PM) Try saving it as all files, then force type it as gif file choice of saving it as all files does not exist, cannot force type .gif It is what it is plain and simple. I'm giving up again for now, will check back another time for more responses. Early posting regarding images always appearing in image preview now is not resolved either. Something must be altogether wrong.

Windows XP Boot Problem w/o CD-ROM

Did you install the windows XP that was in the thumb drive from this computer? Or was that winXP pre - installed some where else to the thumb drive. If it was a pre- installed OS, it won't work as windows need to load on the system that it was installed on. When your OS ends up in a cycle of reboot. There are a few ways to end up like that, 1) after installing service packs , did you? 2) hardware problem . Possibly or else it would not...

Late Introduction

I wanted to learn C++ to start with but from what I've read it's a very difficult language to start with and so I've gone with Visual Basic .Net. The language at first glance seems very forgiving when it comes to mistakes and with Intellisense it's hard to go wrong, I've done a bit of web design in the past but only basic stuff with HTML/CMS, XML and a touch of PHP so I have a general idea of what programming is...

Baffaling problem - Help please!

I believe I had a similar problem about a year ago. Try using a different monitor first to see if it will power up. If it doesn't there might be something wrong with your graphics card. My comp would turn on then go into a standby-like state after about 15 sec, so I got a new graphics card from XFX and all worked fine. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi all, After a good few years tinkering about with macs I'm in the market for a new pc. This isn't going to replace my macbook for work, its basically just going to be used for playing games, specifically WoW. I know that means I don't need a high-end gaming computer (i assume WoW's demands are pretty minimal) but I want it to run smooth-as-silk at all times, and I'm happy to have a bit...

I need help on a tec. question at my home. I have my 3 computers networked together at my home and the computer in the garage is acting up. When I start it up it acts like it is going to come on then a screen comes up saying "We're sorry but there must have been some kind of an error starting or the power must have been lost, or something like that, Then it wants me to decide to start in ...

I think I'm screwed here but before I officially give up on my laptop, I figured I would try the forums first for a solution so here goes. I have a Dell Latitude (or some random model which I believe is irrelevant). Anyway, the laptop was sold to me with the DVD-Rom not working so of course it was cheap but was unable to read and disc media. Figured if it became a problem, I could just ...

I have a webcam and I am talking to someone else who has a webcam . We can get both of our webcams to work on our computers . I will see myself in my camera and she will see herself. But when we click on "buddy's camera" to see the other person , all we get is a black screen on the camera. We have tried turning our firewalls off at the same time and this did not work because it is telling ...

Hello, I really could use some help here. I just put together a custom computer and it will not boot up...The fans run for 2 seconds and that's it...Im really frustrated and I don't know what the problem can be. I ran a basic test, consisting of main power to the motherboard (no other components on the motherboard besides the CPU fan were connected) and tried giving it power. Again, only...

Hi, I'm really struggling with some very basic funtions which always worked for me in Windows ME. Perhaps if someone can explain why this is happening it might help me understand more? Remember this is Windows ME I am talking about. I like to simply "save as" images I find on the net or that are sent to me on e-mails. It has never been an issue or problem. I have floppeys full of them...

On my girlfriends computer we are unable to access a lot of the admin controls for the computer. Her ex was the one who used the computer the most and repeatedly got it infected with viruses and trojans but rather than running a scan and removing them as he should have he has used the built in recovery program. Something he did has now made the control panel inaccessible, even trying to ...
