Good retail, trumps Dubai

With 5 months green shoots talks, the black Friday sale up 0.5% from last year. I thought sale would be up 20%. I guess the worst is over.

Commercial RE defaults will be the next big problem and even though the dollar amount is not as large as for housing, it comes on top of the housing problems which has put the banks in a bad position.

My guess is Woods was in a panic over his substantial financial exposure to Dubai when he banged up his car pulling out of his driveway at two in the morning. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/jun/04/tiger-woods-dubai-course

FYI There is an effort underway to try to help Martin Armstrong (who predicted the 2007 downturn and various other market moves correctly) who is being moved illegally to a maximum security prison on Mon. Nov. 30, so the article says. Web page here: http://www.martinarmstrong.org/economic_projections.htm

The Tin Foilers were looking for a big delivery default today at the COMEX. Instead, the Cartel successfully scared all the tin foils into rolling their contracts, cashing out, etc. instead of taking delivery. Pretty much a non-event. Speculators might get wiped out on Monday once the results are public. Hats off to JPM and GS, vast profits made again at the expense of the CIGA's.

I saw a video of all of the real estate stuff in the ocean that they were doing many years ago and was wondering who would buy all of that stuff and if it was safe. The engineering there was incredible but do you really want to live in a place where a rogue wave could do a lot of damage? I guess they ran out of billionaires to live in the middle east in the water.

Someone asked me what's the average duration of bear and bull markets. I'm sure the info is widely available, and some of you could prob put your hands on the info in a matter of seconds, but I just don't have that bookmarked. I was able to find after considerable searching this post documenting market behavior after extreme breadth lows (EBLs) going back to 1987. Ok, the price...

I would not read too much into their action, they have already sold off 5%+ in prior sessions while US markets only finished off about 1.5% Friday. I am guessing a flat to green open with a much lower close. The employment "numba" Friday is going to be ugly imo.

not likely - you need to consider just how much money printing the FED has in mind, which is mind numbingly monstrous. that is all that matters. everything else is just scenery and whining by people who either don't have a position or missed the move. or fundamentally don't understand what is going on (those same folk who didnt see housing bubble, etc). oh, and the bubble could be ...

After reading what I just wrote it's clear that I need to stop PUI. It's crushing my credibility LOL Anyways, the previous scenario assumes States and the Federal Government approach bankruptcy while corporations and private pools of capital, flush with cash, offer a Faustian Bargain. One of the country's problems is who we select as our leaders. Many, it seems, are either stupid or corrupt or both. The most fatal flaw is the people who create the problems are often then promoted to positions of greater authority. It's the equivalent of promoting the employee who has been successfully taking from the register for years to supervisor because he's best equipped to...

If these lawyers get their way, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act will be toast. There was obvious injustice in the particular case they are representing. However, their interest in it sounds like it is only due to the fact that winning the case could result in bringing down the entire Sarbanes-Oxley Act, in order to help out their friends who are "doing God's work." I notice at the end of the...

So, perhaps a Christmas Rally will still take place? We shall see. Even last December managed to finish with a bang, but current chart indicators say maybe so, but not just yet. I think. So, maybe this year will be a late rally too. We shall see. Thanks. Upn.
