In all this, have you got your buddy back to move the wheel back and forth while you're under there watching again? I know you did it before, but armed with more knowledge (and fresh eyes too maybe?) you might see something you didn't see before. Have them turn the wheels continuously though, so you can see and even feel for even the slightest movement in things like the trackbar. And even where the box mounts to the frame. Then get...

Nothing from the brakes The worm from the power steering box will work for a 4x4x2 conversion if you get the box from a late 70's 4WD. Be warned that the eletronics (computer and harness) from the '96 are OBD-II and will be MUCH more difficult to swap then '95 and prior stuff. The basic engine itself will be just fine.

351 Cleveland question
Published (2009-11-20 20:15:00)
Here you go. As you can see the 72 cleveland was nothing special. So in my opinion you would be paying too much. Bax H-code The majority of 351 Cleveland engines are H-code 2V (2-venturi carburetor) versions with low compression. They were produced from 1970 through 1974 and were used on a variety of Ford models, from ponycar to fullsize. M-code The M-code version was produced from 1970 through 1971. Both years offered quench heads but 1970...

I dig the rig. Badges and emblems are easy to remove. Depending on how high the auction goes, could be worth it. Looks clean at least.

Just the factory originals. They were only made 2 years. Makes them kind of special! Especially for someone doing a resto.

Basically you'll need a 4x4 output and tail housing in the end your better off to just start with the 4x4 version.

The cobra jet is nice, but really,,, do you need it?
I just picked up a 351C 2v standard bore size, carb to oil pan, with a extra set of factory rebuilt heads, for $375.
Granted its not the 4v open quench heads, but i am going for a torque monster kit for it. The kit brings me to 450-475 hp, at 4,700 rpm's.

I wish I could finish it for the dad and then give it back to him. Living in Hampton Roads, most of my friends are military and I am actually a military contractor. I hate hearing about the sacrifices that our troops are making anywhere. I think more people need to realize what they do for us all.

Good find. Here's a couple of things you need to do. And a couple of answers to your questions.
1. Yes get rid of all of the wiring, but keep the harness in case you need to use any of the plugs.
2. I would use that dizzy as a core and order a reman. unit. (HINT, if you order one from autozone that includes the TFI, the TFI will have the 'lifetime' warranty. Ask me how I know)...

I think I worked hard to get my bronco done this year to use it for hunting, drove it for the summer but ended up having some engine trouble so I don't get to take it out.
I've been out hunting once for whitetail this year and saw a few but didn't pull the trigger. I have two weekends left so we'll see.
