yeah for some reason i thought i had seen some with 6 blades... ignore my statement but it still stands true, p-51's 4blades, very fast, new, stunt/racing planes 2-3 blades, so much faster than p-51's so i guess that's a better example, a p-51 would lose a lot of speed if it just had a 2blade prop

Aulonocara Koningsi and yellow labs
Published (2009-11-18 17:15:00)
I have found that yellow labs are one of the very few mbuna that Pecocks seem to do ok with. If you are planning to have female peacocks, then don't mix species. The females are almost identical so much the males can't tell and it becomes almost impossible to get pure fry.

How do you figure it's a hybrid? It looks like it's just a line bred german blue ram according to most.

after a while i dont think you can rinse them(carbon) enough to get out everything theyve absorbed. that being said I've left carbon behind years ago and do straight filter floss for all my filter media which i rinse with every weekly waterchange and change once or twice a month.

etcbrown wrote: Did you happen to see who held those fry? It definitely has characteristics that would make you think Tropheus, but that would be quite an unusual hybrid! Take some good quality pictures when it matures, I would love to see it. Actually a good high resolution picture now would be great! I think its the Troph holding.

Where can I find this type of wood?
Published (2009-11-18 23:06:00)
Got any boating friends that like to prowl the shore? They might be a good source. I think the lake levels in your big lakes may not vary as much, but the impoundments where I've been are full along the shore after the water level drops. Up to a hike? Stick a folding saw in a pack and have a good workout at the same time. You do have to use some moderation so you don't collect more than you want to carry back. The big heavy stuff...

I suppose you could make a little shield for the thermometer out of PVC. It might not be pretty though.

One of each of the three listed maybe, at max. Unfortunately when stocking new worlds, a 55gal is not a very large tank and your options can be limited.

Obviously not "Ngara Flametail", but I suppose they can call it anything they want, it is a colourful hybrid of various unknown fish.
They call them various colourful vague trade names, with "Peacock" part of the name.

Well, so far the largest cat caught in Kentucky was a 5ft long, 123lbs ... the largest in the US I believe is the blue catfish, 58 inches and 124 lbs. At least according to Field and Stream.

I added 8 LED's to my tank tonight, 2 white and 6 blue (4 modules). I only ordered 3, but Doc Fosters Smith like me
Anyway, it's my nighttime lighting and WOW!!! A M A Z I N G. The shimmer effect just makes me smile from ear to ear!!
I don't know if I'd buy the one he's selling, since it's from another country, but there are others on eBay.
Good luck!

Seems just when things are rocking along fine, I fall in a crack that I had never seen.
I lost a fish and probably two more due to a simple thermometer hanging on the tank wall. Cheap little glass kind that you see all the time. I like them better for a more definite answer. Seems that my rowdy guys (or me) knocked the bottom off the glass container. Not the part that holds the red ...

Ryan - two questions. When you say "my water is fine" do you mean the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels? Can you tell us the levels of those readings? Also, can you tell us about the behavior of the fish before they died? Were they hiding? Eating well? Did they appear "fat"? Any signs of disease?
As for fish selection, check out the cookie cutter setups to help you make your selections....

Some larger cichlids won't necessarily eat livebearers. I know individuals who have successfully kept adult Severums with swordtails and the like with no problems. Calm archocentrus species like sajica/cutteri would probably work as well.
Just some ideas beyond what you had thought of.

I've been wondering that for myself... and if they are interchangeable, what is it about the xp4 impellor that boosts the water flow so much?
