Hi  when does she see the specialist in Chicago?  I don't have a clue as to what it might be but was curious to see if your family has received any information yet.  Hugs ~

Sorry he has been sick for so many days. Is he coughing a lot? Any sign that there is a secondary infection brewing? My first instinct would be to say that he just is taking longer to get over the flu. :( but if he looks worse or is still carrying fever on Mon. or just still seems to feel bad I would take him back in for a second look. One of my friends daughters had the flu and has carried a ...

I'm the same way, I never run the kids to the doctor unless symptoms last awhile. But a couple weeks ago when my 12 yo. came home ago with a fever and cough, I had him at the doctor the next morning for a flu test. With everything going on, I don't think there's anything wrong with taking your DD in today for the same. If she tests positive she can get Tamiflu and get better faster. And ...

Hi Erin - if they didn't find any other anomalies or malformations, then there's an excellent chance that it won't be a problem in the future. Sorry, though, don't have any personal or professional experience with this condition.

I'll be curious to hear the doctor's response, but my own personal response is "when it seems like it's warranted!" My 15yo dd issues aren't as severe as your ds, but she has some relatively significant bowel problems. When our local Children's Hospital was running out of ideas to help her, I started soliciting other opinions. The 2nd doc we talked to was able to give us some ideas but ...

I'd leave him where he's at.  Over 90% of people who have been contracting H1N1 influenza have been miserable for a few days and then get over it with no serious complications.  Honestly, I think it's safer to stay in pre-school than it is to get in your car with him every day and risk having a serious car accident.  I love those commercials where the little boy is wrapped in bubble wrap from ...
