You realize your use of the word "mom" means that you've found your permanant home, right??? So, what's with the "adoptable" on your page?

Theres a siamses rescue around here but they found out i rescue cats and they wont adopt to me! they said that rescues have way to many sick cats running around they dont want there cats to be sick. I was really mad! i mean im not a shelter, i have 1-2 foster cats here that are spayed and fully vetted! and when i first get them they are kept in a room alone for 2 weeks in case of any illness. My other rescue cats are kept in another building...

Stop me before I adopt again...

And who is your target kitty? My best friend has expressly forbidden it. She is one who is actually able to recover unscathed from the adoption bug. She had serious dog cravings for months, but finally came to her senses. She has a dog, toddler, infant and *ahem* virtually worthless husband. What do you think of the name Helix for a cat who tends to walk in circles?

Does Anyone Know Which Pet Food...
Published (2009-11-25 17:13:00)
Your right Nigel Pibb there is no perfect pet food, that is why we have to get back to basics and feed what an obligate carnivore would naturally eat. That is our opinion anyhow.

Calories for weight loss?
Published (2009-11-24 21:57:00)
DeeJay and I are eating only canned food now, mom was wondering how many calories we should be eating? We are using the formula 13.6x weight +70 but that seems like an awful lot of calores: DeeJay 235.92 Munchie: 263.12 Or should we be going off of what we 'should' weigh? And how do we figure out what we 'should' weigh?

Arm attacking and biting!!

men are absolutely terrible influences on cats!!! I got Charlie when I was 20, and I'm 33 now, so he's met a lot of dates that came and went out of my life. Many men for some reason just immediately wanted to put their hand in the shape of a claw and go for Charlie's face. Charlie was already hyper, and I would ask them not to do it. They would laugh and keep doing it, at which time I would annoyingly raise my voice and say...

Mom says if that picture is even CLOSE you're about the most precious thing we've ever seen. What a wonderful holiday gift. And your first raw meal already - wow! I was extra snuggly last night and seemed really content. Mom thinks it's because I know I helped save another special needs kitty. We're sending purrs that you settle in quickly and get along with all the other kids!

I am so sad for Simon and his family!
It's good tho that he has a family who loves him. I know they will not let him suffer and will be able to let him go when his time comes, even tho that is very hard.
I will purr very very hard for Simon and his family, and Mommy and I will be praying for them.

I wonder if a collar is a good thing or bad thing? Because if a cat has a collar and is out, will people ignore it and think it's someone's pet and not realize that YES, it is a pet, but it's lost, not just out. I have found a stray with a collar, but no tags. I fed her but didn't worry since I thought she must have an owner who lets her out, that's why the collar's on...then, she came back the...

I have so many toys. Some are hidden in my secret hiding spot that those humans haven't found yet (those humans are so dumb!), some are lost, scattered around the house or in a basket/food/water bowl somewhere.
Or under the fridge, dressers etc.

I cannot answer that question but i think this might be a good time to remind everyone that when our friends were dying of the poisonous wheat that the pet food makers were buying from China....not all that long ago, we learned that many of the "esoteric" and expensive brands (often recommended and sold by Vets) were made in the same gosh darn factories that the house brand and "cheap" brands ...

You won't know until you try. Oscar was 13 when I started feeding him ground raw, and 14 when I first gave him a small chicken bone. I thought he'd skip it but he chewed it right up!!

Hiya Lurch! All I can say is if you have the room, the money, and the love, well... Also, if you think that your present "bosses" won't mind? Are you supposed to foster or keep furever?
I've got to admit lately that I've been wondering about getting a third feline member for our family, but I'm really scared of upsetting the great balance that we have now. There are so many poor cats out ...

Detoxification when starting a raw food diet is VERY common.
Regarding the loose stool I would lean toward the Instincts. It may have an ingredient in it that is upsetting your kitties tummie or has grown an intoleratance to an ingredient in it. Edited by author Sun Nov 22, '09 12:03pm PST

wow Snowball, That is a decision you are gonna have to make. though imo, I would get a second opinion first! That is if it will not make things worse.
Good Luck and we will purr real hard for your speedy recovery!

Okay - so you have rotated between brands and flavors for a few months each....what I would suggest is pick a bunch of different brands and flavours that your kitty likes and rotate them after each can. This may help keep his interest. Looking forward to something new to eat more often instead of the same food for a long period of time. Cats get bored of the same food just like us humans do...I ...

Welcome!
If you feed kibble at least 8 hours apart from raw, you should be fine. Kibble takes longer to digest, and you don't want raw meat backed up behind it waiting to get out. One of the reasons cats/dogs don't have problems with bacteria is the quick processing time ("mouse in, mouse out" as I just read ).
If little Mini-Me had runny poop after eating raw, he may need more ...
