00ctober - 31/10/2009 17:39 Your reception on Oct 28th is almost perfect Andy, the bottom of that graph is 99.1%. I think the real difference between yours and Sam's reception is just that one is excellent and one is very poor. It wouldn't have been if it had been on 1 min archive... but it does dip when the battery gets about half life/power so I always change the iss's battery every year (instead of every other ) . The other...

That was my impression too but I could be wrong.

I remember back in about 1984, it was bonfire night, i was stood with a few friends keeping warm by the fire, when we saw a bright red light in the sky, it passed slowly over us, at the time i would not of known what it was but now when i think back it was like a distress flare, no smoke was coming from it, and it was very bright, it was travelling from E to W , and as it disappeared over a hill, and the bright light disappeared over the hill,...

Thanks for all that info. Ben. Great to have it recorded. Feel free to relay other stories, as I can assure you most of us will not be bored at all! Even based on my own experiences in lowland Belfast and suberbs, I recall the seventies having some notable cold spells, but not particularly snowy. Having just taken a walk about with the console, reception does improve with proximity. Could this just be an ISS or transmitter battery problem, or something more sinister?
This is one of the problems of trying to troubleshoot wireless reception problems of any kind, whether it's weather stations or anything else - there could be a range of causes and very difficult to pin down the ...
