Kathy - I'm not very good about answer installation questions, but I know another resource that might help you. If you want to email me through my profile, I can send you a link. You don't have the option set up so I can email you.

Sorry, I can't answer your question but I just wanted to point out that when we were shopping for a new seat we decided to go with the 65.? The 80 goes to 80lbs.? My son is 5 1/2 and weighs just over 40 lbs.? We figure he'll more than likely outgrow this seat when he's about 6 1/2 or 7(if we can keep him in it that long).? However, I still don't see him weighing 80 lbs at 7 yrs.? Anyways, my point is if your kiddos are not...

Can't get a secure fit

I posted about my Radian installation questions, and didn't hear from anyone, so I'll open it up a little. We just can't get a tight installation. Its the Radian 65s, in a Honda Odyssey. The LATCH is a little more secure than the seat belt installation, but its still too loose. And I'm confused about tethering on a rear facing Radian. The manual says we don't need to use the tether, so what's the best thing to do...

Need help! Buying new seats!
Published (2009-11-30 11:10:00)
Hi there.? I was in a car accident about a week ago and I've insisted that the insurance company replace my car seats.? The kids weren't with me, thank God! I had a Britax Marathon that was RF for my 2 yo (24 lbs, 33 in).? My 6 mo DS (20 lbs, 28 in) was in a Graco Snugride still, but we were getting ready to move him up to a Britax Roundabout.? We still have 1 Marathon and 1 Roundabout that was in my DH's car, but the kids...

I live in Chicago! I understand cold! LOL I do just what you think might be too hard. I put tehm in the van, take off their jackets, buckle them in and either give them a blanket or put their jackets on backwards. When we get out of the van, I get them out of their seat, put their jackets on them as I take them out of the car. The couple seconds it takes to put the jacket on hasn't seemed ...

Are your seats in the second row fixed or can they slide next to each other? Can you remove a second row seat?
A couple of ways I hear other people do it...
Place the 2nd row seats together and put two kids there side by side. That creates space so you can get into the third row from the side instead of climbing between two car seats.
Take out one of the bucket seats and put two ...

It is fine to just use the lap/shoulder belt harness. Marathon's can be tethered rear facing you just have to find an anchor point in your equinox.

Do you know what other car seat options there are in your area? I wouldn't recommend the Britax Decathlon for many reasons even though I own two of them.
A couple of car seats to look for:
Graco MyRide Compass True Fit Evenflo Triumph Advanced Safety First Avenue Complete Air
Usually, I would also put the Radian near the top of the list, but I'm thinking it might not be ...

Hi there are you all of from the car wreck? That is wonderful that you are getting the insurance company to replace your seats. Was it a bad wreck meaning you need to buy a new car?
I wouldn't buy another roundabout. That seat is usually outgrown by 3 years old. Its a short seat. You said your dd is still rear facing in the ones you have? Here is how to tell when a rear facing seat is out ...
