RF height limit on Evenflo Symphony

I'm pretty sure that last year Evenflo clarified that the head rest can be raised for rear facing. I thought it was reflected in the current manual. Sigh.

Gah, had to see this right before we go out of town. If I find there's still an ISO up when I get back I'll go by the store that had them last time I was there and see if they still do.

Let's try the paper trick. Fold a piece of paper diagonally, so that the crease cuts a corner in half. Line up the edges of the paper carefully. You will have a perfect 45 degree angle. Hold the angle of the paper up to the back of the seat, and compare the top and side of the paper to vertical and horizontal. It's usually easier to eyeball horizontal and vertical than it is 45 degrees. If the top of the paper is perfectly level, the...

Looking @ getting veracruz. want to know if you have 2 car seats, 1 RF & 1 FF in the outboard positions, can you still access the 3rd row w/o removing the carseats? Is there much room to get into the 3rd or is it super tight. Like the Enclave and highlander b/c you can get to the3rd by going through the middle. Would the enclave/highlander be a better choice?

Those approvals are pretty hard to get -- my best guess is that this would not qualify, since she CAN use a standard US seat, even if it hurts her.

I don't see any other seats in the vehicle..is this your only child? If it is, you put the seat behind the passenger side, and when there is a second adult in the car, they siply sit in the second row behind the driver, next to baby. This way you forfeit the front passenger seat, but yet the driver and other passenger are both completely safe and not "eating the dash." I hope that makes sense. I am not a Radian install...

If it is defective, it will go back to the manufacturer. If it is just a "changed my mind", and the seat has been used, the seat should be trashed, which passes the cost along to other consumers.

look up the type of airbags you have. When bracing is prohibited it's often because of the airbags (I can't for the life of me think of the name of the type of airbags, but it's where the sensor calibrates the airbag based on the passengers weight)

If you don't need the recline or shade of the BJCM, I'd go for a Micro. I got one a couple of weeks ago and it really is a bare-bones mini. I can grab some pictures tomorrow if it'd be helpful. The only huge difference is the shade size. While the Micro shade is smaller, it's still substantial enough for most situations.

How big is your son, and what slots is he on? If he's pretty small, you probably need to switch to the other set of loops. On the back of the seat, follow the shoulder straps down to the metal splitter plate. There is a second, smaller set of loops on the end of the shoulder straps.

I will be watching this thread. My son got car sick at around a year & I turned him as nothing worked to stop it. However he still sometimes gets car sick even FF. One of the things I did was to stop him from having any dairy products before going in the car. This seemed to help some. He seemed to get sick more often when he had dairy, however that did not completely solve it. Is she more ...

Is there enough room for you to sit between them?? I have a 2 door with Marcus RF on the passenger side. What I do is to put the drivers seat forward, then climb into the back seat & sit down next to him to buckle him. So if there is room to sit beside it I would. Also can she climb into her own seat?? Marcus starting climbing into his own seat around 19-20 months. So, that would help alot....

Hi. You say you have 2 small cars: which vehicles do you have? We have lots of parents here who are experienced with small vehicles and cramming carseats in them, lol. Modifying carseats/boosters in any way is a no-no . Bummer, I know, because I know that darn feeling of the buckle constantly falling down. It's the one time when I actually like a stiff buckle stalk because it makes ...

Installation and Technical Questions

1) No you cannot. Unfortunately, the rfing angle is a huge issue with the radian and some vehicles. 2) Yes, the harness is a pain. The easiest way I've found is to buckle, estimate how much to tighten it, unbuckle the part at the crotch, tighten, buckle, repeat as needed to get the right tightness. Also, pull up not down to tighten (if I remember right).

I wouldn't get a Radian for a child that's not going to RF. Get a FF only seat, it will last longer. The Radian might be a good choice for your daughter, though, if you like it. She could rear-face in an XTSL or 80SL probably until booster age, then it could be passed down to the next baby. A Nautilus could be a good long-lasting choice for your son at fairly minimal cost. (How tall is his...
