DON'T upgrade at all unless your going to get an amp for your speakers, if you have anything other than stock! If you get an amp for the door speakers I would upgrade the deck but not with the one you linked. The best advice from me to you is for you to not chase your tail, if your going to get a new deck get a good one so you don't have to keep spending money so often getting something just a ...

i think any problem in "drowning out" your comps can be fixed with simple gain adjustments so dont fret about that so much.
yes Image Dynamics is still a quality product. and good for sq/spl.
im also starting to be partial to the diamond audio d6's.
the benefit i like most about 2 woofers, is that in some cases, it can drop the ohm load to your amp and get more power, thus an extra ~3db...

ALOT of people have problems with midbass output in the doors, problem is the service holes, the purpose of your door is to act like a box, you need to seal it the sound waves from the front and back of the driver, having service holes does not help one bit with this, now take your rears, they are sealed off much better in comparison.

you can test the coil with a multimeter. bring it with you, it's a must imo...not only to see what coil it has but to see if it's still in good/working condition

you don't have to amp them, when you install the amp for the front speakers, leave the RCA's unhooked from the amp and the gains all the way down. Then turn the rear speakers up until they start to distort then turn them back down to a volume at which they no longer distort. When you have the volume set on the deck where the rears sound good, then fade all the way to the front on the deck and ...

Damn though... i am still skepticall about all that ' not bridging amp thing' .. I don't understand... What is damping factor? And if i dont bridge my amp, i would only be running front comps at around 80-90 rms... and i heard these speakers love around 140... + i will have 2 useless channels on my zx700.5 ????? I heard midbass only comes out when properly powered. Anybody heard these ID's with ...
