What is just as frightening is the mainstream media never says a peep.. I would even go as far to say Blackwater is no different than a terrorist organisation. They are a very dangerous group of mercenaries that seem to have a free hand with very little if any oversight.

Blackwater's Secret War in Pakistan is an article by Jeremy Scahill in The Nation. It details how a private contractor is so deeply into the AFPAK war that it is hard to tell who is in command. This is a frightening article.

Nobody wants to describe the agony of the prisoners. Imagine you are given to somebody like cattle and treated as such. In case you are innocent, the war crime is even more severe. These stories really get to me. I spent several years in camps.

Yeh, there are many enterprises that do not measure up to our expectations and tv certainly is one of them, spewing crap that many have not even an iota of interest in viewing. Darwin fans need a gimmic, factual documentaries are a hard sell that usually draw a small audience whilst tales enhanced by fancy reap great or at least respectable commercial ratings. In recent years more and more tv 'shows' are animations, icons instead of...

"This has little to do with our Canadian problem." Except for the repeated slippage of the integrity of the party in power, whichever that is. Canadians have always seen themselves and their armed forces as being protectors; ie) witness the 'reasons' and p.r. given for us being there to help women and children live decent lives - yah, tell us another one....ok ....we don't torture nor condone it. Apparently...

Hecate Straight has a reputation among boaters (usually fishers) and fliers for bad storms rising very fast, often without warning. One can peacefully leave Prince Rupert on calm waters and wind up in a gale half way to Queen Charlotte City. I've made that trip several times. That definitely is the wrong ship. What is wrong with that over priced idiot who runs BC Ferries? What's wrong with ...

I see they tasered the Deer.. A wayward deer that wandered through downtown Toronto before stopping to rest near a busy intersection has been stunned and captured. The doe, believed to be about two years old, was resting in a grassy area fringed with shrubs outside a building at 123 Edward St., near University Avenue and Dundas Street West on Tuesday morning. It was hit with a shot from ...

One of the biggest problems is the killing of sharks. So much of the shark is wasted when caught and killed just for it's fins, but that's another topic. The big predators of the ocean are on the decrease which means everything else is on the increase.

It has no legal weight. That is too bad. Why can't the opposition parties force it through, they have more MP's than Harper? The other thing is, Harper is headed for a majority next time, so the bottom line is, if the likely and sad event he does get a majority, we will see nothing done on the environment for at least 5 years, longer if he wins a second majority. Even with the Libs tanking...
