The vast majority of the ice that they are worried about is floating ice.In order for something to float it must displace it's more than it's weight in water. Being that ice is water the level of the ocean will not rise. Put a glass filled with ice water on the table and let me know when it overflows.

Neither choice really.
12 gauge 00 & slugs are the first choice, followed by 44 mag or 45 ACP, followed by 3006 or 7.62x51 Nato. The 9mm is relegated to targets only, as other choices are better for defense. Six rounds, or anything 10 is reasonable for HD, unless you think either zombies, the clan, or all of MS 13 will be at your door.

When it's happened before (dog barking, mysterious noise, etc) I do not dismiss it. It gets checked up on. How I do it and what I do it with isn't none of anyone's business.
IMO, saying so could compromise you, a bit like that cop thread back then where people were talking about carrying their back-up guns.
