Written in a pub on a piano around 2000, was clowning around, liked the tune. Recorded in 2007 for something to do. Added a bit of this and that but not too much to spoil it, well, I don't think I spoilt it. Over the years I have recorded this song about 6 times and everytime it came out different. Mainly without drums and this is the only version I recorded with guitar on. Used to ...

This is the produced version of me "unplugged", my country tune called "It is what it is". The original was just me and the guitar and a vocal track (which was scratch and re-done). This new version was going to be a big colab! Janet's a sweetie but she couldn't get the keys the way I wanted them, so this has no keys. Jonbouy was going to do the drums, but again, I must be getting pickey in ...

Hi, sorry to drag this thread out (came up in a google search). I wanted to re-address a point made regarding firewire. I use Windows XP with Boot Camp and have a firewire audio interface. Should it work? I am experiencing problems and pray that there is a work around for it. The drivers appear to install correctly and teh device shows correctly in teh device manager. But I have yet to get ...

Hi group, I am trying to get addictive drums to record. I just can't seem to get it. It shows up for a vst, it opens up. I can see the drum sets and hear the music. It shows up under the M_S_R area as being heard. As soon as I hit the R button to arm it for recording the level drops really low and when I do record nothing gets recorded, just empy space. What am I missing, what am I doing ...

Working on two tunes that I recorded with my brother at a little studio in Denver. Recorded them in Cubase and effortlessly imported the projects via OMF into SONAR. I'm getting close to thinking the mixes are done. The thing I did differently this time that I think is getting me closer to modern CD-style mixes is: 1. ran mix thru built-in multiband compresser, normal-medium preset ...

Hi all, I use Sonar 7 Producer Edition. I have a potential client who is across the continent. They would like to be able to be remotely involved in a session that I run with local talent. Does anyone know of a technology that will link in well with Sonar 7 and allow me to route audio from the session over the net to the remote producer and allow the remote producer to communicate with ...

Hang on to yer woofers, I'm seeing how low I can go... A basic groove in a retro stylee I knocked out this afternoon, just for the fun of it. The usual, 100% midi, all sounds in Reason and polished up in Sonar. Top 'o me Soundclick Get down... < Message edited by Jonbouy -- 9/4/2008 8:55:20 PM >

quote: I just noticed that CJ is approaching 15,000. John is a tad under 10,000. Interesting. Also interesting to note that many users of cakewalk feel the forum here is a joke. Interesting to see that many users who left Sonar complained about the user base as being out of touch with reality, having to argue about bugs instead of getting solutions. I'm not surprised. How ...

To get an authentic 60s sound have all your takes done in mono and distorted. The more distorted the better. Also use the Isotope vinyl in abundance. If you can use only spring reverbs. Do not use a multiband of anything. Use only EQ that adds lots of distortion. IM distortion is most important. You should setup your gear so nothing above 15 khz is reproduced. Your best bet for media ...

I wrote this song late one night a month or so ago and just finished adding other instruments. You would think by now that I would have a better idea about how to mix, but I'm afraid I don't, so I'm open to any comments or suggestions! It's slow but it's mercifully short, too.
