Vista only goes up to SP2. You're confusing it with SP3 for Windows XP, which I wouldn't say is required.

Sonar and Surround
Published (2009-11-07 00:00:00)
What kind of audio hardware would I use so that I can still run Sonar 8.5 in 64 bit, and be able to have surround outputs to powered speakers All you need is an audio interface sound card with more than 4 outputs to have surround in sonar. You use sonar's surrong bus's to route to each output. look at these cards; RME Motu Echo kll those cards are great and most of the models have 64bit drivers, just check the system...

dont worry :-) the box is almost the same (except for the .5 behind the 8 ) sonar 8.5 physical comes with 4 discs and the short version of he manual no need to download anything ...which is useful because the download version cannot be installed on its own (without a s8 on the pc) regards

Hi Dave- I don't quite understand why you'd need to turn them all off either, but yes, you can change the inputs for multiple tracks at once. Select the tracks, then go to Tracks > Property > Inputs on the Main Menu. -Susan

I don't think you've heard a mamabear sing yet. And playing the piano with paws? Very carefully... You didn't mention the mooch. Whatever that is. But yes, it IS an interesting place, isn't it? I wish it was real. I mean, a real place.

KiteKrazy, Right, but just because your plugins don't work doesn't mean that not a single 32 bit VST work in Sonar x64. That's not true at all. JBridge is another variation to Bitbridge. Sonar 8.5 has JBridge integration built-in the Plugin Manager. So you just install JBridge and enable which plugins load with it through the Plugin Manager. You can test JBridge ...

Do you still have Home Studio installed? If not reinstall it making sure that the Lexicon plugin that's in your 100 songs is installed along with it. Make sure that your SONAR Studio 8.5 (Plugin Manager) knows where the Lexicon plugin from Home studio has been installed. During the onstallation of SONAR Studio 8.5 you can select which parts are and aren't installed. Just delete ...

Hi- Good question! I can't check right now, but I don't think you can do that except in standard PRV. I'd love to hear I'm wrong, though. -Susan

Well I prefer having a quad. I know that's not scientific but it's a great reason.

OK. I AM an idiot, in fact. Just figured it out. I was clicking **the wrong** MIDI Learn button from within Stylus. Oy. Lovely waste of 45 minutes!

I've used the Behringer FCB 1010 MIDI controller for about 5 years with my Pod. It has held up quite well. I haven't tried to use it with Guitar Rig or Pod Farm, but I've thought about giving it a try. Programming is a little difficult at first, but there is a free on-line editor that someone created for it that makes setting it up a simple process. It is extremely flexible which may account...

Well, you know....I've been meaning to switch over anyway and get an Apogee rig....I'd definitely do the test and let ya know. That's actually next on my list to be honest and something I've been wanting. Got some major studio construction going on at the moment....but after it's done, I'm gonna take the leap. ;) I'm not defending the Layla cards or arguing with you....just was ...

Investing..... right now the conventional wisdom..... IF YOU BELIEVE the ads on TV & radio is....invest in GOLD. Sure it is up quite a bit in the last year or two, but it's LONG TERM returns are about equal to a bank saving account over time. And then you have to ask..... do you really want to buy at the TOP of the market? Are we at the top? I don't know, but we are into historic highs and when...

Oh! Hey Geno, I checked out some of your songs. Excellent work there, and you have that "classic" Rock N Roll voice! Great job. As for the strings on my song, it took many attempts to play in real-time. Then, a few edits here and there in PRV.

And another thing that makes this all the worse. Programming the split tool to, say left mouse - control key for the draw tool DOES NOT WORK in any case. It only works for a very small section somewhere in the middle of a note. Cakewalk has decided that the end of the note - which is programmed for slip edditing - is not the end of the note. The end of the note actually starts somewhere in the ...

I'm working on a large orchestral project, more than instrument 40 tracks. There is a strange behavior in Sonar 8.3 when navigating in a large project. As I go foward in measures, the speed of response decreases !!! For example, to open a single clip in the first measures, it's fast. Another clip in measure 80 takes 2 seconds to open. As well a sigle movement of cursor takes 2 or 3 ...

I had the pleasure of utilizing the golden voices of Robby, GuitarHacker (Herb Hartley) and evadianepug (Warren Willingham) and his sister Eva. Robby sings the first section, then Herb sings the second section, then Warren and Eva team up on the third verse and chorus, then Robby, Herb, Warren, Eva and myself contribute vocally to the final chorus, although you'll mostly hear Warren and Eva in ...

I don't know, Jimmy, but I've seen way too many bugs since I came here. Most places are ok, but I was recently doing a job in an apartment in a dubious complex. I had taken my boots off, because it was muddy outside(totally unnecessary, as it turned out). The apartment was dark, and as my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I realized the walls, ceiling and floor were moving. Cockroaches. ...
