60,000 mile oil change interval.
Published (2009-11-24 21:12:00)
This sort of stuff is not uncommon. Right here on Kent Island we have young folks at the high school that drive a number of various ricers. They frequent the parts stores and additive shelves but never check oil levels or change the oil and filter. It's almost as if their cars are a throw-away toy like their Ipods and laptops. Kids have no inquisitive mechanical knowledge nowadays: they're too occupied playing computer games or...

Anyone that goes 60K without an oil change deserves what he gets. That is similar to what my fathers 78 Ford 350 looked like when I replaced a worn cam, but he did religious 3K oil changes. The problem was the 10W40 oils of the early 80's.

At one of my clients, there is a mechanic who has three Ramchargers, including the Plymouth version, and two '70s era Rams. The Ramchargers are all lifted and modified for heavy offroading, but he uses one of his Rams to haul a lot of scrap metal to the yards. He was telling me today that he had it loaded up with 3500 lbs of metal, and it's only the half ton, with the slant six and three-on-the-tree! I've never been a huge fan...

Engine Trouble (pulled codes)
Published (2009-11-24 15:26:00)
This has been covered on here many times. You need to be using the AC Delco 41-987 plugs they come pre-gapped to .050 using any other plug will often cause misfires or drive-ability issues. They are not cheap expect to pay $6-$8 each. Ignore the U1000 code the U codes come and go like the tide. The B0429 code is being caused by the HVAC actuator that supply's air to the rear seat vents. If the air works normal at the rear seat vents...

Hi, Ed. Welcome to the forum, and thank you for your response on the torsional isolator issue.
I knew you guys checked out these fourms but this is the first time I've seen a post. I hope this is something that can continue in the future, as there are always other issues.
It's also invaluable to hear from the program engineering manager involved in the creation of our car(s).

Not sure just what a PT Throttle Valve Sensor is, but if it's a TPS ( Throttle Position Sensor) or another throttlebody part, take a look at your car in www.rockauto.com or call Luke in Parts at Lindsay Cadillac over there >>>>
They're one of CF's supporting vendors - you can also e-mail Luke up in the Vendor section at the top of the main Forums page.

Yes I have them and they improve traction in the wet and cold. Worth the price and the tread pattern is pretty neat.
Your traction in the wet will be poor with either

Can't let the details out publicly. I've got as much money invested in the business as I can manage and borrow right now. Need $27k. Return to you would be 30% (approx. $35k) with a ROI of about 6 months to 1 year max.
Contact me via email for details. (jwiebe@northstarperformance.com) Even if you are only willing to invest a portion. This has to do with something that will benefit 100 ...

52" Bravia in my family room, which sucks since I can't lay my 360 on it. And an old 27" Hitachi in the Basement. We've also got a 27" Sony sitting around as well, which is newer than the Hitachi, but doesn't fit in the cabinet we built for the basement.

Hip Hop is dying due to commercial mainstream trash which has been condoned as the status quo, but you can still sift through some of the bull that is coming out and manage to hear something with substance, or at least someone rapping about something relevant to personal struggles. Artists are more concerned with making a dollar. I could go on all day about this though, but will decide not to.....

From what I've heard the genius thought it would be a good idea to swerve between lanes at 140 in a damn JEEP! Six people were hurt and only one of them was wearing a seatbelt. How stupid can you be, not wearing a seatbelt in a car w/o a roof!

starts tonight! of course being that we dont live in the UK we'll have to wait for it to show up online, still excited none the less. Its a shame we dont have a car show of this caliber here in the us. but then again given the smaller market of available cars to play with it probably wouldn't be nearly as interesting.

If you change your tires at the track and leave your stock rims by your car, you dont get much of any warning lights.
As for tires and rims. it is MUCH cheaper to just get some lightweight 18inch rims and some track rubber on them. The car handles alot better with the hoosiers on.
