Just opened you scene. I see you solved the tiling problem, i rendered the scene with "Real Lights" on and off and i cant get that strange render you got.

it uses Modyn for the animation of the spheres but you could animate the spheres manually and get same result

Can you not do a script to sim the whole time range then render it all out, sim all then render all??
Allan Mckay had a script knocking around that did this.

All the mac graphics cards work equally as well in 3d apps under OSX. Take the radeon 4870.

It looks like a decent model, good work. I guess that the X-wing as a reference item is a bit lacking in terms of potential detail though. With a bit of nice texturing it'd be improved substantially though!

Well how much are you willing to spend?
At start i would say, get a Laptop with an i7 CPU(they have Quad Cores) and a Geforce(seems Softimage is picky about ATI).

First of all, the reels good, just alittle too long and some soft spots that could be cut to really tighten the reel up leaving recruiters wanting more.
first dialogue pieces are good but too long, you're waiting for the next thing after seeing your can pull off acting, so if i was recutting it id keep the best emotional moments from each piece and cut the rest for LATER in the reel.

Hi Guys,
Here is our latest cinematic from RealtimeUK.
The movie is 100% 3D (some people ask ) was made in 3dsmax and rendered in Vray. Post effects were done in After Effects and Look Suite.
All of the cars were hand animated using the same rigs we developed on Split/Second and the Motorstorm movies.
Production took place over 8 weeks, and was completed by 5 artists.
