After some hilariously awful lip synching, some dodgy texture work and a rather slow start, I'm now really loving this. It's improved on the first game in all the right ways, and I am LOVING the light RPG elements.

I think that should be very possible. One way to do it would be to use a simple image, but that would be flat, and you mentioned you wanted to animate it? Another way would be to model your text and use texturing to achieve the desired effect, along with the parti_volume which you're already working with. For example, if you modeled your text and set Primary Visibility to Off, but left shadow-casting on and such, it might work how...

if you change the settings in the options box (the square next to the command), and specify 0 subdivisions, it will remember that for the next times you do it. All command settings work like that.

NOTE : This NOT AN event sponsored by The CGSociety. It is just an opportunity to network in your area. Hey guys, Well we had a balst at the 2012 screening here in DC so I want to repeat the experience. Well this tread is another GLOBAL "Field trips" to see a film. This time we will see the film Avatar in our local cities. And who knows maybe in a really big IMAX screen? Again I was thinking is that since the film opens in...

If you want to change the rigidity let's say to 5 for example on all selected objects that have nCloth shape node try something like that: Code: string $mySelection[] = `ls -sl -dag -type "nCloth"`; for ($each in $mySelection) { setAttr ($each +".rigidity") 5; }

Lower your viewport particle count. This can be done per event in the Display Op as well as in the Global PF Source node.
Cache events.
Turn off Display Geometry and use Dots, Ticks, Circles, ect. instead.
Try switching between OpenGL and D3D and see which performs better for you.
If you are using animated shape instances as your particle shapes, turn off animated shapes ...

If you clone a Matrix Object you're only cloning a Matrix Object, not the TP Particles. There are only as many particles in the group as the Matrix Object generates, and it only takes control over the first particles in the group, therefore you've got multiple Matrix objects all trying to take control over a single set of particles.

saw it yesterday. This movie is particularly bad. A near 3 hour movie could have done with a shave for sure..
I will say this, for 2 hours people were sighing, snoring, restless but for the last 40 odd minutes people actually seemed to be glued to the screen, Thats when i thought the visual effects were awesome...not that they were substandard to this point, it just became interesting..

After seeing so many cutesy cliched cartoony kids animated movies lately, it was very refreshing to see something so different. 9 almost seemed like a live action movie with animated characters. The art was amazing and it was low budget ($30 million) It was just as demented and twisted as the original 9 student short film. I also really like how it is difficult to tell if the movie ...
