Question, When you are pulled over.

Actually Rommel I believe with lb430 in effect as long as you have a valid ccw permit you dont have to register your firearm with OPD at least thats what I read lb430 overrides paying 10 bucks to register a fire arm and you will be legal to carry even in omaha or even if you live in omaha. Ram already posted something on this from lb430.

"fundamental principle of American law is that the government and its agents are under no obligation to provide services, such as police protection, to the general public." -Warren vs DC (Or something pretty close to that.)

Could not have said it better myself...... And another recollection from the "rusty vault between my ears".....I do seem to recall a few postings on this forum from the Omaha City Attorney verifying the same.

Louisiana reciprocity
Published (2009-11-21 14:52:44)
I'm possibly going on a trip to LA this spring and found the LA State Police did not have NE listed as a reciprocity state. I sent them an inquiry and this is the response I received. FYI to anyone heading south. You are correct in assuming that our law gives reciprocity to anyone carrying a concealed handgun permit in this state that has been issued by a state in which an Louisiana Concealed Handgun permit is considered valid. We do have...

Question, When you are pulled over.

I am not a citizen on the city - I live outside the limits but I am carrying within the limits everyday. That bill does not restrict cities from you requiring to register your gun - only that they can't out law it. If you CCW in omaha you have to register it still.

Rommel, you are 100% completely wrong. LB430 EXPLICITLY says that cities cannot regulate the ownership or possession of a waepon by a CHP holder. For those (Rommel, et al) who need to READ IT AGAIN ... "Cities and villages shall not have the power to regulate the ownership, possession, 1 or transportation of a 2 concealed handgun, as such ownership, possession, or transportation 3 is authorized under the Concealed Handgun Permit Act,...

I've been told that the SCOTUS ruled that they are NOT required. I believe the case involved patrol cars that rolled by on a call while two women were
being assaulted over several hours.
Posting from the phone, so I can't really look it up.

There is no need to tell him its not registered he will find out when they run it anyway then if he gives you any crap you can inform him about the ccw law and
lb 430 if he still wants to give you crap or doesnt listen to you ask him to call out a supervisor you have that right and they will come out. Most likely one
would think if you show them your ccw permit that is good enough but they may ...

My two cents......
1) Take an extra pair of undies, cause I bet you needed them when this ended. I know I would have......
2) DON'T QUESTION A LEO(S) WITH GUNS POINTED AT YOU.....PERIOD. You can be mad later on, but possibly dead before that.
3) DON'T EVER CONSENT TO A SEARCH OF YOUR VEHICLE !!!!! If they ask, that means they don't have probable cause or reasonable articulable suspicion.

This is a hard one.
Yelling your are not my dad is a hard one to step in on.
Now if people seen this girl and she was struggling violently and screaming and yelling at the top of her lungs STRANGER and HELP, this would bring more people
to her aid.
She probably yells louder when her little brother comes in her room.
