when can you color your hair...
Published (2009-11-19 23:10:34)
( I didn't follow any of the guidelines. I slapped on the colour once it was a 1/4 an inch. The nurses were concerned more about my hair being fragile than any health concerns. I had no problems at all, and felt a lot better once I got my colour back. One thing to remember, the colour will come out more brassy than it would if you were colouring your pre-chemo hair. Tell your...

bras
Published (2009-11-19 20:05:19)
( There's a great website that I used when I first had my mastectomy called www.breastfree.org I found some companies that offer various camisoles, bras, breast forms, etc. I've also ordered from www.tlcdirect.org . I find the camisoles with the inserts more comfortable. That's just my opinion though. They have several options to choose from. Another website is www.softee.com \(I think\). I've also ordered from them. But I...

how dcis becomes invasive
Published (2009-11-19 22:50:26)
( I read an article that stated that said a certain, large, percentage of women who had autopsies upon their deaths, even from old age, had DCIS. I'm so sorry but I can't cite it, I'll keep looking. It was recent though. So, apparently some women can have DCIS and never have it become invasive. I don't think anybody knows, but probably grade, HER status and type of cell have to do with it.. ...

I did six months of CMF..and you are right it is a long road...I had trouble with the white blood count and had to get the shots for that. Please remember to drink all the water they tell you to. I think I went thru a gallon a day while I was taking the cytoxan pills for the two weeks every cycle. I also felt more tired with each treatment. Oh the other hand, my friend who went thru the same ...

oh my goooooooooooooosh! so so clever. what an awesome poem.. very well done! i just love it. Seriously, that is an excellent poem. The neat thing about poetry is that there are so many types.. there is such freedom in wordplay. I will definitely help keep this thread going. Sometimes one needs to write a poem to capture an intense emotion that cannot be conveyed with normal ...

Hi Susan, Last October I was diagnosed with endocervical \(adenocarcinoma\) cancer Stage 1B1. I had a radical hysterectomy w/both ovaries out. I also have basel cell carcinomas on my skin, but I understand these are wimpy cells and I don't let them wreck my day. The endocervical cancer wrecked a lot of days and my latest dx of breast cancer really, really is wrecking my days. I'm only ...

Hello girls! im slways amazed to hear how individual each of our experiences are. No two are alike, but as a whole we cover all variables :). I too seem to get very nervours(illogically) right before my fills. That 10 minute wait in the Tx room, once gowned and seeing the sterile equipment...i don't know, like its a reminder of all the tests/biopsys/images/and surgeries or how far Iv come in ...

I started in October Rads, today was day 2 of 25. I will join you all in the Nov. rads group as most of my treatments will be in Nov. I believe each person has a different treatment plan depending on your diagnosis. I have three tatoos and think I have just two areas that are targeted, as the machine starts radiation on one side and then moves just once to the other side, but I had DCIS, ...

Done with fills on Dec. 28th. r-480cc, l-500cc's. Will exchange for HP Mentor Silicone on 2/4. Was small B prior to BLM - hoping to be 36C when finished. Hard to tell what I will end up with. PS says he will bring 500,550 and 600cc implants into surgery. He's going to move the pockets closer together. Doc doesn't talk in cup sizes. He asked what I wanted & I told him I liked the ...

Hi mommy2two, Sorry for your news, but at least we can go thru these experiences together. I first thought I wouldn't need chemo either, but after surgery #2 when they realized there was more NODE involvement, it then became a must. I'll only be two days ahead of you with treatment, so I will let you know how I fare. I went to "Chemo-Class" last evening with my hubby. I told my nurse I ...

Welcome txstardust. I saw three oncs and one of them suggested ACx4, followed by Tx4. Twelve weeks of Taxotere \(or is it Taxol?\) sounds like a lot. But I see chinablue on the Sept thread is having the same Tx. I see what you mean about not wanting to rearrange your life because of the damn cancer. Good luck with the surgery on Friday. ,
