Hi, My neurologist is David Dodick at the Mayo in Scottsdale. I have been diagnosed with a possible CSF leak (spontaneous intracranial hypotension.?), and treated with a blood patch at the Mayo in Scottsdale,AZ. I injured my back lifting a case of water in December of last year and think this trauma could have caused the leak, but I am not sure, of course. The only other trauma I had ...

I finally got to see a Pain Specialist on Thursday! He recommended weaning me off the medications I'm on and doing nerve blocks (not the ganglion one in the neck). So he gave me my first nerve block that day (I was so excited at the thought of relief since my meds are not doing the trick) He shot a steriod mixture (he had a form I had to sign with the exact ingredients listed but I was in such ...

Hi Friends, I just called the advice nurse about increasing swelling/fluid accumulation between my skull and the skin over it. She got me in for an urgent care timeslot. I spoke to the doctor. She said that it is cerebrospinal fluid pressing out of the hole in my skull because the fluid pressure inside my head is too high. This is the first indicator, to me, and to the doc, for another ...

I am thinking of going to LA to see him, but does anyone know of anyone who had successful treatment of a leak by him? I see posts saying he and his office help are nice people but I am most concerned about results. Mot

On May 8, I had a of case, viral labyrinthitis (an extreme case of vertigo) in Toronto. They took a CAT scan and told me that I did, not only have vertigo that I also had a 10 mm aeurysm on my left MCA. This happens to be my second aneurysm. I had a burst aneurysm on the right side exactly 10 years ago, which was repaired through about 13 hours worth of surgery. My residuals were that I was ...

I had rejected Carly's IEP. The behavioral consultant's service was listed for only up to November. I rejected it because that meant the service would have expired and I would have had to fight to get it in for weekly. They want to reduce it. But, they have to convince me first that it should be reduced. I have seen no evidence from them that they have anyone ready to ...

Hi all, now I am gonna screw us all up as I have decided to change the thread title again. I hope you don't mind, I just thought that this one might be a bit more appropriate. Let's see. Well as you all know I have started taking the Topomax well for the last two mornings I have woken with head pain. Not migraines (I don't think) but yesterday I did have to take a 50mg Imitrex, this morning ...

The August thread is getting too long, so I am starting a September thread a few days early. For latecomers, here is a link to the Charter Membership of the Swim club where you can check out what we are all up to. We are a group of people with MS who swim, or exercise in the pool as a way of controlling our wellness. http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/...ad.php?t=34 751 We ...

There are a few on here that I can't figure out. Everytime I see them I wonder, what does that mean for them, why'd they pick it, what does it spell? I can tell the names, dates, songs & simple things I can figure out but can you all explain yours if it is not crystal clear. Please humor me, if you want! Stephanie ( I have 2 busy toddlers!)
