Dog Fancy Magazine
Published (2009-11-26 22:43:00)
I'm so excited! I just got an advanced copy of Dog Fancy Magazine, January 2010. My friend Beverly, who donated her boxer Clancy's cart to Jack, contacted them in the fall to see if they would be interested in our story. It isn't a long article, short and sweet and best part of all is they used my Jack's picture. I was in tears when I saw him on the page in front of me. I have no clue how to scan the article, so I took a...

Boston with longer tails.
Published (2009-11-25 05:09:00)
The standard for the breed is that the tail be no more that 1/3 in length from the set (where it comes off the butt) to the hock (heel). The original breed had long tails and they bred short with short to get the natural BOB tail. Tails can be straight and long, short and fat, pig screws, none at all and also inverted. The last can cause health problems' NO tail is to be docked and no tail to held held above the topline of the dog. Tail...

Boston with longer tails.

So many of you mentioned Dixies long tail, well that got me thinking about the dogs in our Asheville meetup group. Maybe its a North Carolina thing, not only are our dogs a little bigger than the average, we seem to have a lot of Bostons with longer tails. We have 65 members, only about 15 of them come to meetup regularly. Here are few pictures of some of our Bostons that have longer tails. Dixie and Maggie we know sure are sisters from...

Greetings from the Keens!
Published (2009-11-22 12:52:00)
Hugs everyone! Hubby took this video and he did a great job editing and tweaking the video as well. Knowing hubby, his place he states is behind the camera!! I was K'O'ed and in dreamland- yes, that's me making a cameo. Both Mosey and Hannah has to knead on me or by me, if it's not possible, they will cling by me all day and it is even rough walking around the flat with very limited vision. I have learned it is best to just...

Welcome! So glad you found us! She is a precious precious baby! And good for you for rescuing her out of a bad situation! Can't wait to learn more about her and see more pictures. I'm Toni, I have Lucy who is 6 and we've had since she was a puppy. And MiMi who is approximately 10 who we rescued 2 years ago.

Keep an eye on the water intake and if you think that's increased then it may be worth another vet check-up.
Do you have her on senior's food?

Thanks! And yes we did and I am still enjoying my wonderful day off. The dogs are following me around like I'm crazy, I guess cuz I'm trying to deep clean and rearange and I hardly ever do that! Poor MiMi has probably never seen me do that! LOL. I am listening to Christmas music and just relaxing . My crazy husband and daughter got up in the middle of the night to go shopping on black friday!...

I'm sorry to say that if the patella is continually coming out then he is in pain and surgery is the only way to go.
Start him on Arnica tablets a week before surgery and his brusing will be a lot less so recovery is quicker for him.
Sounds like your guys have come from unchecked lines.
We like to rescue our wonderful kids but they can be very costly babies as most of them are from BYB's who ...

hmmmmmm, isn't it weird all the different tail shapes and sizes?! I love love love looking at the pictures though, they're all soooooooo sweet! I have never known for sure if bostons are just born with the tails they have or if their owners do dock them? That is probably something I should know by now but don't. Lucy almost literally has no tail and MiMi has a little sticky outy tail. Oh and I...

Could it be because your sister wanted a short trip in and out of town with her friend and the small babies?
Sometimes it does help to see the situation outside of the box logically than emotionally. Easier said than done, I realise.
Recently my niece went to a party with a classmate of mine and it was Toronto too as well. I wasn't upset because it is about boundaries and respecting them ...
