the factory service manual on my 96 has in bold letters: do not use ATF. use only Mopar PS fluid. Amsoil lists their own universal PS fluid as acceptable. so, likely any universal PS fluid is fine.

Our three engines have aluminium heads and one has an aluminium block. Most engines here have aluminium (alloy) heads and have done for yonks, RX does't differentiate between metals. Just worry about selecting the correct oil and driving it hot & hard for as long as possible. My 2c

I get real low silicon with a Fram air filter every 20,000. Got them on

I would keep an eye on it over the next 2000 miles or so to see if it
stops. It should not be using that much oil...IMO

In the average range of use for most folks, I doubt you would see much difference. Start to approach the extremes in heat, RPMs, temperature, etc. and you will probably start to see deviation (to what extent I don't know enough to say with these two specific oils). Really depends on the use, in my opinion, but I prefer to go "overkill" with my oil versus settling for another that I don't think...

Alright, let's recall every single car made, because a floor matt with sufficient thickness may cause the acceleration pedal to become 'jammed' and thus cuase " uncontrollable" (turn off the car or put it in neutral) acceleration.

Should I expect less or more consumption with the 0w40 when compared to the PP 5w30? It currently uses approximately half a quart over 6k miles with the PP. Any 0w40 users out there, especially those running it in a subaru?
